Chapter 13

Everything moved in slow motion as the guard took me to the same building I had been to before when their vampire-wizard King tried to rip my neck off. I tried to ignore the glares I was getting... I didn't know why we were hated so much so what was the point of overthinking.

I was taken to a room, it looked like a dungeon. I wiped my tears as I looked around the room, it had one tiny bed with plain sheets, a single drawer and a chair in the corner. This was worse than any prison I had seen but I guess it was better than being put in a cage. The guard left me but he did not lock me inside the room. I did not know what to make of that however I did not try running.

If I tried running that would be a suicide mission, these creatures would hunt me down and end my life in a heartbeat. So I decided to sit on the chair, I couldn't stop the tears that ran down my cheeks. I couldn't help myself, I missed my mother so much and my home. I missed the peace AGUA offered all of us and how organized everything was. In GORDO everything was so wild. I felt so cold and filthy .I stood up and walked towards the drawer hoping there was something I could change into. Unfortunately there was absolutely nothing .I rolled my eyes "of course ,I am in prison" I sighed loudly

"This is hardly what I would call a prison," a voice behind me said and I jumped. My heart almost stopped, I quickly turned around to face the source of that voice. I should have closed the door when that guard left. A lady about my age stood by the door looking at me with an amused facial expression as if I was the most interesting thing she had seen all day. I did not know what to even say to her . She just walked right in holding a silver dish with water ,a small cloth and a black plain long sleeved dress. "trust me you wouldn't survive in our prisons, my name is Sasha and I will be helping out around here. Get cleaned up and change into these because you look absolutely filthy. I will be back to take you to were the food is ,I am sure you are starving" she said placing the things on the empty chair.

I nodded "Thank you" I said almost silently.

After she left I quickly closed the door, I was very annoyed with the fact that there was no lock on it. This meant I had little privacy around here which was terrible but then again this was beneath any of my real problems. At least there was only one small window in the room which meant I wasn't too exposed to the outside world. I quickly took off my clothes including my underwear. I wiped my whole body with the wet cloth, we called this a dry wash back at AGUA. We would only do this when we would come across the sea and the water was too salty to use. Those where always hard times because then we would have limited water to drink and to use for other things.

I sighed as I noticed that there was no lotion to even rub on my dry skin. I quickly put on the dress, I wasn't even a fan of dresses because they made me look so exposed. The good thing was it was long and it was black. The bad thing was my whole ass was hugged tightly by this dress. The dress shaped every inch of my body, it felt like a second skin. I knew I had a big ass and it was only good on some occasions like when I would try to get Tyler's attention. We used to have a thing but he is too much of a dick to actually be in a stable relationship with someone, I wish I had known that earlier before we did what we did back then.

I checked in the drawers again to see If there was something else to put on or to cover myself like a long jersey or something but nope it was absolutely empty . I decided to untie my long dark hair, at least that would do for now. Hopefully it covered my ass well enough, even just a little bit. My hair was long and wavy ,it had outgrown itself .I was hoping to get Lilah to trim it once we had settled then I would trim hers but there was no hopes of doing any of that now. Sasha knocked on my door before letting herself in, she raised an eyebrow as her eyes scanned me from top to bottom.

I looked at the ground trying to avoid eye contact, to say I was uncomfortable would be an understatement. She cleared her throat "you are quite a beauty, you should stop hiding your figure and that beautiful hair." she said and I looked up at her. She was smiling at me.

"thank you" I tried to give a small smile for the compliment . I didn't like to be the center of attention that was Amara's job. She had a body for days, everyone wanted her and she loved it . I preferred doing my own thing in the corners like a shadow.

"Follow me" she said grabbing the dish and cloth before walking out. I followed her out of the building , I still got stares here and there but It got worse when we were passing some warriors. I avoided their stares . Sasha looked back at me "Don't mind them, unmated males are horny little dogs" she said with a grin

There was a larger tent close to a small river, we walked towards it. I could see many women there working. Some were fetching water while some entered the tent with fruits and meat. There was dried meat on a wooden bench outside the tent close to the entrance. Sasha grabbed my hand before I could even blink and she pulled me inside. Many women gave me glances, glares or stares but Sasha told not to pay too much attention to them.

We walked towards a wooden table filled with lots of different kinds of fruits, meat and vegetables. Real vegetables in such large amounts, we did not have so much food in AGUA. We only read about these things and learned about them in class. We only ate different kinds of fish, squid, sea weed and anything edible you could possible find under water. I was a sushi fan but right at this moment whatever meat that was on this table smelled so amazing. I caught Sasha looking at me ,she was holding back a laugh. I probably stared at the food for too long , I wiped my mouth in case there was some drool or something. She filled my plate with almost everything before handing it to me.

"My kind eats a lot, here try eating this. You can add more if you are still hungry." she said and I took the plate with a smile. I sat down and I did not waste any time as I dug in the food. I almost moaned as I took my first bite of the meat , I didn't know what it was but it was amazing. "that is pork, pigs meat. You have not had such meat before?" she asked curiously

I shook my head as I swallowed before answering "No," I continued to taste the different kinds of food on my plate. I closed my eyes as I took in the different kinds of taste blowing up in my mouth.

She scrunched up her eyebrows and stared at me. She was definitely studying me "Oh, I see. I am glad you are enjoying the food. The women here love preparing food and they are always happy when their food is appreciated."

"I see that the imposter is enjoying her food. You should also tell her that the women here do not appreciate it when another eats food that she did not work for like a pig. Disgusting, the King will get rid of you soon enough" the red head said with a scoff. She had insulted me in every possible way. Even I had learned that pigs were dirty animals.

I suddenly lost my appetite as I glared at her, she was wearing a beautiful deep red dress that barely covered her chest. She had a nice slim body and a tiny waist which made me feel even more uncomfortable. Sasha cleared her throat "Vera there is no need for you to insult the King's guest. I am sure he wouldn't be happy if I told him about this..." she said with a smirk.

Vera rolled her eyes as she filled two plates being held by some girl she was with who looked miserable by the way. "Whatever Sasha, I was just getting food for my King then I will leave you and your little friend. It is not like I enjoy looking at this." she said glaring at me before walking away.

I put my half empty plate on the table, I was definitely done eating now. Sasha scoffed as she picked up another plate. I was about to tell her I wasn't hungry anymore but she beat me to it "Get up, you will be taking food to the King right now. She has declared war." she said filling up the plate so fast she wasn't even looking at the large amounts she was putting in it. Some meat even fell out of the plate.

I widened my eyes in horror "Uh ...but she is taking food to the King already." I said and I did not want to go anywhere near that creature again.

Sasha glared at me for the first time and my heart dropped "You will take food to your King. Your task starts right now. Do not forget that your life and your friends lives depend on you gaining the Kings favor and the peoples respect"

I swallowed hard as I took the plate from her and I nodded my head. This was for my friends.
