Chapter 412 Who Is More Attractive
Upon seeing Lysander remaining silent, lips pursed, Zane also found himself unsure about the current state of affairs between the two of them.
“Um, Ms. Thorne, are you here to see Josiah?”
Lysander shook her head. “I had no idea he was here.”
Zane seemed to have a sudden realization and nodded. However, Lysander wasn’t sure if she was mistaken, but she seemed to notice a hint of disappointment on Zane’s face.
“You guys carry on. I’ve got things to handle.”
Lysander nodded in acknowledgment to Zane.
Zane, however, hastily inquired, “Is there something troubling you? Maybe I can help.”
“Thanks, but no need.”
“I’m helping you on my own accord. It has nothing to do with Josiah. Zane considered for a moment before adding, “This place… it’s not exactly safe for you to wander around alone. You never know what might run into.”
Lysander frowned. “Isn’t this just a karaoke lounge? Why wouldn’t I be safe?”
Zane’s face stiffened and spoke awkwardly. “Anyway, this isn’t your typical karaoke lounge.”
It seemed as though Lysander was beginning to understand.
Yet, she wasn’t entirely clear.

Given her line of work, she really didn’t need to engage in any social events, so she wasn’t all that familiar with the ins and outs of it.
However, looking at Zane’s expression, and recalling the lipstick marks on Josiah’s shirt from earlier, one could make a few guesses..
No wonder when Zane was just talking about Josiah, he used the phrase “unruly.”
“You guys…” Lysander was at a loss for words. “Did you all come here… looking for… women?”
Startled, Zane quickly shook his head. “No, no, that’s not it. I’m just here as the driver. They’ve all been drinking, so someone sober has to get them home.”
“Oh.”
“Josiah isn’t here for the women either!”
It seemed as though Zane had thought of something, letting out a dry chuckle, “He was probably just in bad mood, looking for some distraction. The woman just now was just a singer he was with, strictly business. She’s not the type to sell her body.”

“I’m not trying to explain, just trying to preserve Josiah’s image.”
Lysander gave a slight nod,
Zane asked, “Is there something so urgent that you had to come here?”
“Looking for someone.”
“A man or a woman?”
“My sister, Michelle.”
Zane suddenly let out a sigh of relief. “I thought that…
“What?”
“It’s nothing, it’s nothing. Do you have a photo of Michelle? I’ll ask around to see if anyone here has seen her. It’s certainly better than you aimlessly searching.”
After giving it some thought, Lysander pulled out a family photo from her phone and handed it over to Zane.
Zane took the phone and glanced at it for a moment, raising an eyebrow. “This is your sister?”
“Mm–hmm.
“You two sisters really don’t look much alike, haha.”
Lysander said, “I appreciate your help. My sister is still young, and I’m genuinely worried about her.”
Upon hearing these words, Zane also became serious, nodding slightly before making a phone call.
In less than two minutes, Zane already received an update.
Zane said, “I’ve got news, Your sister should be in Room No. 1036 right now.”
“Thank you.”
“Um, do you need me to accompany you there?”
It was somewhat unsettling that Michelle, a young woman, had ventured to this place alone. Zane was after all a man, and it wouldn’t be appropriate if he happened to see something he shouldn’t..
And so, Lysander politely declined, “No need, I can go by myself. I really appreciate your help today.”
Zane waved his hand nonchalantly. “You and Josiah were once a married couple. Now that you’re separated, who knows what the future might hold?”
Seeing that Lysander wasn’t interested, Zane decided to stop there. He quickly added, “Just because we’ve broken up
doesn’t mean we have to be enemies. Think of me as someone who’s eager to help. If I can lend a hand, I will”
Lysander gave a nod. “Thank you. I’ll be leaving first.”

When Lysander went past, she did her best to tread lightly, sticking close to the wall as she walked.
At the central hall, there was a round courtyard.
As dusk fell, the only light came from a crescent moon hanging in the ink–blue night sky, its glow casting over a man and a woman standing shoulder to shoulder on the ground below.
The woman rested her head on the man’s shoulder, loosely holding onto his arm. Her voice was sweet as she asked, “Did you like the gift I gave you?”
The man lifted his gaze to the moonlight, lost in his thoughts, subconsciously uttering a soft “hmm”
In the next moment, the woman cradled his face, turning it toward her own. Their gazes met; she stared into his eyes and said, “I didn’t give you the moon.”
The glint in Josiah’s eyes flickered. He had already grasped the implication in her words.
He brushed her hand away. “Stop it.”
Yet, the woman still posed the question, “Who is more attractive? Me or your wife?”
However, tonight was truly spectacular.
While they were romancing under the moonlight, some discordant noises sounded off not far away.
A man and a woman were engaged in a passionate exchange, causing quite a commotion.
It was right on the path that Lysander had to take to get to Room No. 1036.
She could only remain where she was, unsure whether to behave as if she was just passing by, or to leave and find another route so as not to disturb the two’s pleasant moment.
Suddenly, she felt a chill creep up her back.
But when she turned around, all she saw was a fleeting glint in Josiah’s glasses.
His eyes quickly vanished into the night, making it impossible for her to discern his expression, let alone know if he had noticed her.
Fortunately, the man and woman ahead had some sense of decency. They retreated into the nearest
private room.
The obstacle had finally departed.
Lysander swiftly passed through the hall.
In the moment of turning around, Lysander thought she heard Josiah’s response, half truthful, half teasing as he said, “You.”
Following that, was the woman’s seductive laughter.
When she finally located Room No. 1036, Lysander was about to push the door open, just as Michelle was

Astonished, Michelle paused for a moment. “Lysander! What brings you here?”
Upon seeing her sister, Lysander’s irritation surged. “Shouldn’t I be the one asking you that question?”
Hesitant for a moment, Michelle led Lysander to the hall and said, “Wait here for a moment. I’ll be right back…
The hall was brightly lit, and it was then that Lysander could clearly see that Michelle was wearing the uniform of the service staff from this karaoke lounge.
When she was looking for someone earlier, she had come across a few service staff on the road, all of whom were wearing identical uniforms.
After roughly ten minutes, Michelle hurriedly rushed out, now dressed in her own clothes.
“Let’s go. Lysander.”
The two sisters stepped out of Skywatch together, and it was only then that Michelle revealed the truth to her elder sister.
“Lysander, I lied about the class reunion to our parents. I know it’s wrong to lie, but I genuinely wanted to help alleviate some of the burdens. Buying a house requires so much money, and where would mom and dad
get that from? We’re both their children, so it shouldn’t always be you taking the brunt of things. I want to share some of the load for our family too.”
Upon hearing her sister’s words, Lysander’s anger slightly subsided. “It’s not that I’m stopping you from taking a part–time job, but you have to consider the circumstances. There are plenty of jobs that a college student can do, like tutoring or social work. Do you even know what kind of place this is?”
“I…” Michelle bit her lip, her head bowed as she spoke. “But the pay here is really high at two hundred an hour. I’ve asked the manager, there are dedicated ones who accompany in singing and… men. I’m just a service staff, responsible for helping set up the equipment and delivering drinks and fruit platters. I don’t do anything else.”
Lysander felt exasperated. “In theory, that’s true. But if something were to really happen, would you be able to fight back?”
“I was really careful, you know. Whenever I went in to serve alcohol, I always left the private room’s door open. That way, if I ever ran into some drunkard or something, I could make a quick getaway, and they wouldn’t take advantage of me! Don’t worry, Lysander. I’m not naive. I’ve planned out my escape routes.”
Just as Lysander was about to speak, from the corner of her eye, she saw a man approaching.
