Chapter 696

"Alright, I get it," Skyler sniffled, his mood instantly lifting.

Aurelia gave his shoulder a reassuring pat, "No more tears. Why don't you go play with William?" Skyler's face broke into a smile, the lollipop clenched in his teeth as he bounded out the door. At the end of the day, he was still an eight-year-old boy, emotions as fleeting as summer storms. Meanwhile, Leopold made his way to Tanya's room.

"How are you feeling, Tanya? If anything's off, we should get the doctor to take a look right away" Tanya gave a noncommittal shrug, “Just took my medication, so I'm holding up for now.”

Pouring her a glass of juice, Leopold raised his concerns, “You gave Skyler quite the scare today. He cried his eyes out, took ages to calm him down.

He's just a kid, and why frighten him like that?"

Tanya massaged her temples, seemingly plagued by a headache.

"I didn't mean to scare him. Ever since he stopped his medication, his delusions have been getting worse."

Leopold spoke with a casual tone that belied his worry, "What you're describing is more than just delusions. You told him he killed his own beloved pet. How can he cope with that?"

Tanya exhaled deeply, "It's the truth. Ever since he hit his head, he's been acting strange like he's someone else, blacking out, not remembering his actions, and he's been having these hallucinations, painting terrifying images of people and places. Hanson was considering institutionalizing him, but I couldn't bear to let him be amongst the truly lost souls, so I brought him here to care for him myself. It's been tough, but he's slowly getting better”

Leopold was deep in thought, then he said, "Regardless, you can't use words like that to provoke him. Even adults can't handle such horror, let alone a child. If you believe he's ill, then you know he shouldn't face such stress. He's been doing well in Elysium. It seems Eastwood Heights isn't the place for him. Let him stay in Elysium, and I'll take good care of him. You don't need to worry"

A sorrowful look crossed Tanya's face.

"He's my child, my only son. I don't want him living in a fog, as if God hit the pause button on his life. I want him to live normally, to marry and have children. Facing some harsh realities might snap him out of it" Tears streamed down her cheeks as she spoke.

Leopold gave her a long, penetrating look, "Have you considered this might backfire? If you want him to marry, I'll try to guide him. We can communicate better as peers.”

Tanya took a small sip of her juice, "I'm comforted to know you care so much about Skyler. Leopold's voice was firm, "He's my big brother. As the head of the Stirling family, I have to look after him."

She patted his hand, "Then I leave Skyler in your hands. If I could see my grandson soon, I'd die content."

At the downtown.

Megan sat in the back of a sleek black Bentley, keeping a tight tail on Lana's car. She had seen Leopold and Lana get into the car together and had followed them, determined to catch them in a scandalous act.

They were probably off to some secluded spot for a secret rendezvous.

She was intent on catching them red-handed, to bring Lana down once and for all.

After two hours of driving, the car pulled up in front of a shopping plaza.

Lana, sporting sunglasses and a mask, stepped out of the vehicle alone.

Megan's heart skipped a beat as she dashed out of her car, peering into Lana's vehicle.

There was no one else inside but the driver.
