"And what good is being his lawful wife if my son isn't the heir?" Megan lamented.

“Are you in love with Leopold, or are you only obsessed with the Stirling family's inheritance?" Melissa challenged her with a question.

Megan wanted both. She wanted Leopold's love and the inheritance.

"Of course, I love Leopold, but Aurelia hates my guts. If her child becomes the heir, she won't spare me or my children.”

"Aurelia's been dethroned. What are you worried about? Even if Kane takes over later, you'll still be the matriarch. He can't hurt you,” Melissa reassured her.

Megan fell silent.

Leopold didn't take Megan seriously at all. To him, she was nothing more than a jest.

"Don't worry. Megan won't be on our little sea excursion.”

Aurelia could already picture Megan's fury when being left alone in the hotel.

Leopold was fishing with William and Skyler on the lower deck of the luxurious yacht.

Aurelia was sunbathing on the upper deck.

Lying on a lounge chair, soaking up the sea breeze, she felt utterly relaxed.

Melissa sharply noticed a faint red mark peeking from Aurelia's neckline.

“Aurelia, did you tempt our dear Leopold into sex today?"

Aurelia almost spit out her soda, quickly adjusting her top as Melissa's gaze fixed on her neckline. "Don't get the wrong idea. I just got bitten by a mosquito, and I'm a little allergic."

Melissa rolled her eyes, not buying it for a second.

"Don't even try to hide it. The way you walked out of that room, with those wobbly legs. Admit it. You've just been through some tense sex. And I saw Leopold enter your room and stay for over four hours. If you expect me to believe nothing happened, you must think I'm a fool."

Aurelia was speechless. It was all Leopold's fault. He'd been in her for hours, leaving her sore even now. What made matters worse was the protection had failed.

She absolutely couldn't bear Leopold's child at this time. As a woman cast aside, any child she bore would be illegitimate. She couldn't imagine how defeated and inferior the child would be when facing his two older brothers

"We were in a video conference; she lied.

Melissa scoffed, "Aurelia, the most annoying thing about you is your cunning mind. You do things but don't own up to them, just like when you seduced Elvis."

Aurelia replied calmly, "Melissa, a man who's interested in you will pursue you without seduction. And a man who's not interested in you won't bite no matter what you do. I haven't seen Mr. Cooper in ages. He's a career man and looking for a partner who can help him. He appreciated my design skills, and that's why he was interested. If you want to catch his eye, you must show him your capabilities. Otherwise, all your efforts are in vain."
