Megan's face darkened. "Nonsense. We're good.”

"I think your husband's got a wandering eye. I bet he’s got a thing for that beauty up ahead, the porter said, eyes gleaming with gossip.

Megan snorted, “That's his ex-wife. He dumped her because he didn't love her.”

"If had an ex-wife that stunning, I'd rather die than divorce her,’ remarked another porter.

Megan glared at him. "Can she compare to me? I'm the belle of Elysium. I'm not wearing makeup right now because of the pregnancy. If I were, she couldn't hold a candle to me."

The porter didn't think so. The beauty ahead wasn't wearing makeup, either. If she couldn't win without makeup, the result wouldn't be different when wearing makeup.

"Us regular folks struggle to get a wife. Rich men have harems of beauties.”

Megan insisted, "My husband only loves me. Other women are just for show. He won't give them a second glance"

Seeing her son's fatigue, Aurelia decided to rest, settling him down on a rock and handing him the water.
