Chapter 521

Jessica lifted her cup, taking a sip of her tea and said, “So she’s still pining for Chad, eager to join him?"

“Jess,” Hanson interjected, “It's been years. Can't you find it in your heart to forgive Tanya?"

“No point talking about forgiveness,” Jessica retorted, her voice stern, “Chad has a slew of women around him, so one more or one less makes no difference. Tell her that if she can hold out for two years, I'll let Skyler return to the Stirling family, to pay respects to our ancestors.”

Hanson looked at her solemnly, his gaze deep and understated.

Jessica's words were well-crafted. On ane hand, she was encouraging Tanya to fight on. On the other hand, she was buying time to investigate any potential issues. If Tanya and Skyler were innocent, she would let Skyler return to the Stirling family. The sins of the previous generation should not be borne by the next, and the child was blameless.

“Jess, what if Tanya can't hold on?"

"She can. She's been waiting for so long, so she'll grit her teeth and bear it.” Jessica looked out of the window at Skyler, "Does Skyler know about his origins?"

Hanson shook his head, “Not yet. Tanya and I have decided to tell him when he rejoins the clan.” “Fair enough, Jessica nodded slightly, “Since you're here in Elysium, take Skyler out and show him a good time.

Your assistant isn't familiar with Elysium, so I'll have Leopold arrange for a couple of people to assist you. They can help take care of Skyler when you're out for business meetings.”

"Qk," Hanson nodded.

Leopold took a sip of his coffee and said quietly, “Uncle Hanson, you haven't come to Elysium just for Skyler, have you?"

Hanson replied, “Do you know about the solar project in Starling City?"

Of course Leopold did. The Stirling family was a major player in the East, and there wasn't much in the business world they weren't privy to.

"You're interested as well?"

Hanson replied, “The economy in Veritalia is booming, and I plan on increasing our investments there. If you're free, come with me to there."

Leopold nodded slightly, “Alright, I'll arrange a meeting with the local leadership, and accompany you there.”

At this moment, Skyler came running back, his eyes sparkling with excitement, "Daddy, Auntie Jessica has so many rare peonies in her garden.”

Jessica chuckled, “You have a knack for flowers."

“The flowers are my friends. I talk to them every day.” Skyler gave a toothy grin, like an innocent child.

Jessica handed him a strawberry, then turned to Hanson, “Hanson, Skyler's growing up. You need to start thinking about his future. Just because he's different doesn't mean he can't have a family. I'm sure he understands that."

Hanson sighed, "I've been so busy with the corporation, and I've neglected my children's personal lives. Cherry's always been easygoing about it, letting them grow up as they please, but they're becoming unruly. Like Leah, she's been in Elysium for three years, claiming she wants to experience life and toughen up. Who knows what she's really up to?"

Hearing this, Skyler tugged at his sleeve, “Daddy, when can we go find Leah?"

“Ill call her in a bit,” Hanson replied.

Jessica looked stunned, “Leah's in Elysium? Why hasn't she come to see me?"

Hanson rubbed his forehead, “She was always so secretive. Probably afraid she'll be sent back if she comes.”

Jessica sighed, “Last time I saw Leah she was only five, a little foodie who loved to eat. More than a decade has passed, she must be a young lady by now."
