Though Joyce's attempted suicide had been thwarted, she was left in a vegetative state, confined to a hospital bed.

Aurelia took a deep breath and replied with a simple “OK”.

The next round was for Aurelia and Evelyn.

Evelyn sat next to Leopold, looking as innocent as a lamb. She wasn't very good at the game either. “Leo, I barely play games. Aurelia has always been against me. Will she treat me like she did with Sheryl?”

Leopold also wondered what Aurelia would do, but she would have to win first.

“Maybe you're both equally bad.”

Aurelia turned to look at him, her long lashes fluttering, carrying a hint of mockery.

She wanted to see how Leopold would help Evelyn.
