Chapter Nineteen

I was beginning to feel exhausted as time went by as Calvin, the head of the hunters began to talk with his squad, ordering them to scour local sites for them.

I rested my head on Craig’s shoulder as I cuddled into his side with a sigh as I yawned.

“I really think we should all get some rest my daughter has had a tough week” My Dad urged to Calvin as they faced me.

“You’re right. Serena, we shall have a long talk together soon, you may go with your family back home, go sleep in your flat above the café that you love so dearly. I will have men nearby keeping an eye on the surroundings. Go be with your mate” Calvin smiles at me and Craig.

“How do you know…Never mind…Thank you sir” I smile.

“What about us?” Liv says as I see my pack all waiting for command.

“Lucien is there room at the house?” I ask.

“Of course, it will be a little cramped, but we could use some tents outside too” Lucien smiles.

“Liv’s staying with me” David growls possessively.

“No shit…” Daniel rolls his eyes as Craig laughs hugging me from behind.

“You’ll have your own mate soon enough kid” My Dad smirks as he kisses my Mum on the forehead as she giggles.

I couldn’t help but smile at the sight, my parents…I had thought they were dead and yet here they were right in front of me. Things were complicated…sure…but we were all alive and here.

“How are we all getting back?” I ask.

“The injured will go in the cars, others will run” Lucien smiles.

“Let’s go for our first pack run guys!” I smirk as my pack shifts outside.

“Quite the pack” Dad says with pride.

“Not bad for a group of rogues” I smirk as he looks at me in shock.

“Rogues?!”

“Pack of dogs, led by a bitch” Christopher grumbles under his breath, obviously forgetting about our great hearing.

I shift as I walk up to him growling angrily as his eyes widen.

“For god sake Christopher, what did you say now?!” Calvin snaps at him.

“I believe it was, pack of dogs, led by a bitch” Craig sneers.

“I still stand by it” Christopher grumbles as I pounce on him, standing on his hurt leg, snapping my teeth at him in warning.

“I have half a mind to let her do what the hell she wants Christopher. However, stand down Serena, please” Calvin says calmly beside us as I growl at him but step back as Christopher yells in pain.

“BITCH!” Christopher points a gun at me as Calvin stands in front of me, in the way of the shot.

“I have told you before Christopher, I will not take your insolence any more, just because your father was a good friend of mine, does not mean I will tolerate your shit! Back down and do as your told or leave” Calvin shouts.

“You’re siding with the enemy” Christopher snaps.

“The enemy! What have I done to you?!” I say as I shift.

“You’re a wolf, anything that isn’t human is an abomination” He snaps.

“Do remember dear Christopher, you are no longer human either” My Dad smirks as I raise a brow in question.

“Oh, and what is he?” I ask.

“He’s a hybrid…A new breed, he has the blood of wolf, vampire, magic wielder and human inside him…” Mum says

“Now who’s the abomination” I laugh as he just glares at me.

“Get in the car Christopher, I’ll deal with you later” Calvin orders as he signals for a few of his other men to help him up and take him away.

“What can he actually do with all the hybrid stuff? Can he shift?” I ask curiously as I watch them pull Christopher away as he glares at me, I give him a little wave as he flips me the finger.

“Stop antagonising the bloke” Lucien laughs.

“He makes it too easy” I chuckle.

“He’s stronger, quicker, he can’t flit like a vampire, nor can he shift, but he has quite a few of their impulses, especially the rage of a wolf and the thirst of a vampire, but he doesn’t need blood to quench it, just unbelievable amounts of food and drink. His eyesight has improved but his hearing is the same. We still have a lot to learn but things will appear in time” Dad says.

“He’s also a complete dick, was he like that before?” I ask as Calvin chuckles.

“He was always impatient and rude it seems his previous ways have been heightened. We have to give him a reality check every so often. It seems like he’s due a new one” Calvin says with a sigh.

“It would be good for us all to be able to work together, rather than at each other’s throats” Mum says with a raised brow as if giving me a slight telling off.

“Don’t look at me like that Mum, he started it!” I shout as the others laugh.

“How old are you?” Daniel smirks.

“Old enough to whoop your ass” I smirk.

“Kids, that’s enough” Dad orders as we bow our heads in submission.

“Alpha got told off!” One of my wolves laughs hard as I glare at him and growl as he suddenly goes quiet and still.

“I AM your ALPHA, so I’d watch it if I were you Rhys” I growl.

“Yes Ma’am” He nods as his friends seem to shove him playfully.

“Let’s get you home” Lucien claps a hand on my back as I yawn.

“Let’s go for a run home guys!” I say as I shift, Craig nuzzled into me as I yip happily at him as the pack surround us.

“I will see you soon” Calvin waves from his car as I nod at him.

“You take the lead Serena, your mother, Lucien and I will take the rear” Dad says as I nod and howl.

Craig, Liv, David, and Daniel all stand tall with me as we stand in a v shape as we set off, protecting the front of the pack.

Vance and Tony are at the sides keeping us in a close group as Pauline holds onto Tony’s back as I smirk. Going home as a pack felt surreal, we were missing my beta, but I was sure we would get him back and Sebastian and the others would pay for it.

Carla would be at the flat waiting for us and I looked forward to having my best friend back.

Maybe everything would be ok.

My family were back together, and we could get on with life…right?

Working with the hunters might get a little complicated as I am sure Christopher won’t be the only one who doesn’t like us still, but I would take what I could get. Calvin seemed to like me, so we would see how that goes.

For now, this run would bind us all together, a pack, a family and I loved the feeling as I looked around me, excitement brimming through the pack as we howl as one and make our way back home.
