The Logan Family Estate. 

Howard marched through the door with Kara still in his arms. Grace wasn’t far behind, and together they looked like a lovely family of three. 

Kara’s large eyes roamed around the room. 

Where is this place? 

Everything was so big. 

Was this Mr. Handsome’s house? 

She tilted her head once more and studied the man curiously. 

If this Mr. Handsome really was her Daddy, would that mean that Mommy wouldn’t have to work so hard anymore?

Just as Kara was mulling over her thoughts, an old woman who looked to be about seventy gave a cheerful greeting.

“Grandma!” Kara called out dutifully. 

This single word had everyone freezing in their tracks.

Was this grandma deaf or something? I spoke so loudly. Couldn’t you hear me? 

Okay, let’s try calling her again then.

Madam Logan seemed even more overjoyed. 

Howard stared at Kara incredulously. As the shock faded away, joy shone in his eyes. 

“Is this really our Rina in front of us right now?” 

At that moment, a man and a woman, both looking to be in their forties or fifties, were ushered into the room. 

Kara beamed at the additional company. This family had so many people in it.

“Rina, call for your grandparents,” Howard spoke again, tentatively watching her behavior. 

Madam Logan eagerly turned to the most recent 

appearances, Amanda and Felix Logan. “Just now, Rina called me Grandma.” 

“Did she now?” Amanda clearly seemed skeptical. She carefully held Kara’s hand and said, “Rina, say ‘Grandma.“” 

This family’s kind of strange. Why do they want me to call out to people so much? 

Although she wasn’t very fond of all of these requests, she remembered that her Mommy always reminded her to be a good girl. Once again, with a slight hint of reluctance, she said, “Grandma, Grandpa.” 

This time, she happened to address both Amanda and Felix. 

The two of them were thrilled beyond words, especially Amanda. In fact, she was practically on the verge of tears. 

“Rina’s condition seems to be much better. Grace, this is all thanks to you for sending Rina abroad to get treated.” 

Grace stepped forward and affectionately held onto Amanda‘ s arm while wearing a sweet smile. “Auntie, don’t say it like that. Rina’s my daughter. This is the least I should do for her.”

Amanda patted the hand tucked beside her and turned to Howard now. “When are you and Grace planning to get married? Now that Rina’s doing better, it’s about time for Grace to take your last name.” 

Grace shyly bowed her head, a blush blossoming across her cheeks. 

“Rina’s only improved a little. Having a noisy wedding would only worsen her progress.” Howard effortlessly spun another excuse to support his refusal. 

At his statement, the hopeful bride’s face instantly sank. 

After Sally had called off the marriage, the Brown family had been more than eager to send Grace to take her place. However, Howard had turned her down. 

A year later, when Grace was invited to the Logan Family Estate, she brought Rina with her. The two of them moved in, but Howard continued to refuse the marriage proposal, giving reason after reason to back him up. 

At first, he’d said that Rina was still too young to go through a wedding. When she got older, he’d said that he wanted to wait until her condition could improve. 

From what she’d seen, Grace was certain that Howard had no intention of marrying her at all.

Without another word, Howard left with Kara in his embrace. 

Grace gave a quiet goodbye before following suit. 

Back at their residence at Fairview Garden, Howard carried the tired girl into her room and laid her on the bed. 

“You must be tired after a long day of flying, Rina. Get some early rest.” He reached over and tucked the blanket up to her 

chin. 

Kara nodded obediently and snuggled beneath her covers. 

After lovingly patting her head, Howard got up from where he sat and turned off the light before leaving the room. 

It feels nice to have a Daddy. 

With that final thought, Kara shut her eyes and drifted off into a blissful sleep.

Early the next morning… 

Jeremy gently knocked on the door of Sally’s villa. 

“Good morning. I’ve brought you some breakfast.” 

“Thanks!”

This was perfect timing. She’d just been worrying about what to do with her children while she was at work. 

“Okay, then have some breakfast first. We can head over to the office after you’re done.”

After she finished eating her delicious meal, she and Jeremy drove over to their company building.

Joyce had the reputation of being an award–winning lawyer in the legal industry. No matter how complicated a case was, it was an automatic victory in her hands. 

“Is that Joyce? She’s so young.” 

“Are you sure she’s the gold–medal lawyer?” 

In response to everyone’s doubts, Sally simply turned to face the crowd. She wasn’t swayed by their suspicions, and she took the opportunity to introduce herself. “Hello, I’m Joyce, and I look forward to working with you all. I hope to be able to depend on everyone’s cooperation when working together on future cases.” 

“Joyce, hello. I’m Kim, and I’ll be your assistant.” 

Sally nodded at the friendly greeting. “Hello, nice to meet you!”

“Okay, understood.” Sally took the file to look over before retreating to her office. It was time to activate work mode. 

When she finally wrapped up her tasks, it was already ten- thirty A.M. She slid her phone out of her pocket and called home to check on her little ones.

“Micah, are you and Kara up yet?” 

“Yeah, we’re up. Scarlet just made us some breakfast.” 

“And what about Kara? Is she feeling better?” 

She was still worried about her stomachache from yesterday. 

Micah glanced over at his sister, who was quietly eating with her head bowed over her plate. After a moment of silence,

Rina raised her eyes to stare at Micah with wide eyes. Her expression remained blank as if she hadn’t processed a single word he said. 

Micah mirrored her confusion. 

Together, they continued to sit and stare, each one reflecting in the other’s round eyes.
