Ch 8

Tarnac pov

Torad helps me up when I see guards come running in but the pain sets in and that’s when the first break happens. I think there’s no time but somehow they get me down the hall and into the conference room. I motion to just sit in the middle of the room when the next bone breaks and I scream and growl out loud which wakes up the whole house. Everyone runs into the room to see and hear bones breaking when the girls just bury their faces crying. Trinity just stares trying to touch me to comfort me, but the pain is just too much. It seems to take forever and then when the last bone snaps I try to catch my breath when I hear gasps and stand up shaking out my fur.

I look down and I’m solid white now. I just stare at Trinity in shock. What the hell just happened? How the hell am I now white? I shift back to my human form when I just lie down on the ground. My whole body is physically drained. I can barely even move. I do manage to sit up when Trinity climbs into my lab and snuggles against my chest. I look over at the other Alphas when they just stare back confused.

“You know you could’ve warned me that was going to happen!”

I watch them all look at each other shaking their heads which now has me confused.

“That didn’t happen to any of us. None of us shifted and turned white. Maybe it’s because you’re mates with her? Since she is the head of the girls maybe that makes you the head of the mates? Hell if we know! That’s something to ask the Moon Goddess.”

I look down at Trinity when she starts to pull away from me. I watch her sit in front of me studying me when her eyes go white and she hisses at me baring her fangs. Before I can even comprehend what is happening I hiss back and I see everyone jump back. I see her cover her mouth when I know something isn’t right. I stand up throwing on shorts and start sliding down the wall backing away from her. When I stand straight up she is a lot smaller than I remember.

“What did you do to me Trinity? Why am I like you now? Why? All I wanted was a simple mate. Now I have a demon slayer that has now turned me into one. None of them turned so why only me?”

“I don’t know Tarnac. I’m so sorry. I don’t understand it either. I just wanted to be a normal mate, and I’m not.”

I see her cover her face because I know she didn’t purposely mean for this to happen. Yet it still did. I just walk over picking her up with my arms around her. I know this is so confusing for all of us, but I’m sure there’s a reason. There’s a reason I was mated to her, and now turned into whatever these things are. I mean, are we still werewolves? I mean I still have my wolf so duh, we are still in that aspect. But the hissing? The white eyes?

We just seriously need to get some sleep. We have to deal with all of these traitors in the morning. Then what? Where do we go from here. Obviously Baphomet will be back, and we have to be ready. I motion for everyone to go to bed. Party’s over. The “aw’s” and “ah man’s” coming from the peanut gallery make my just laugh. I can’t even imagine being in their shoes. They are probably thankful right now it wasn’t them going through it. I mean that shit hurt a hell of a lot more than when I shifted the first time.

I walk us back to our room and just sit on the couch by the window. Is this going to be our life now? What is this anyway? Like my wolf is white. I can feel her breathing steady and when I look down she’s sound asleep. I’m so confused about the whole situation, my thoughts are just scattered everywhere. What do we do now? Where do we go from here? How are we going to battle this Baphomet?

I look down at Trinity and as she’s sitting on my lap she looks smaller. Something isn’t right. I get up, setting her on the bed so she can sleep when I walk into the bathroom. When I get to the door I stop and realize I can’t walk straight in anymore. I have to turn sideways and duck down. It must have just been automatic coming here that I didn’t even notice.

I make my way through the door and into the bathroom when I look at the mirror behind the sink. It cuts off at my neck. What the hell is going on? I lean over with my hands on the edge of the counter looking into the mirror. I’m fucking huge! I’m as big as that piece of shit horned freak. Oh no! No, no, no, I’m not doing this. There is only one reason I’m now the same size. How the fuck am I going to fight his ass?

I just stare at myself in the mirror when I see Trinity peek around my arm looking at me in the mirror. I just stared at her knowing that she didn’t know this would happen. I can see the pain in her eyes with tears going down. I turn towards her, picking her up and setting her on the counter. I lean down and buy my face in her neck when I feel her arms wrap around my neck.

“Tarnac, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know I swear.”

“I know Trinity, it will just take some getting used to. This is not what I was expecting to happen by taking on a mate. I knew you were special the first time I saw you in your wolf form. I just wasn’t expecting this kind of special. The real question is where do we go from here. Every Alpha here has their own pack that they have to tend to as do I. I think my wolf and I are just lost right now.”

I feel her release her arms from around my neck when I feel hands on each side of my face. I move to look straight at her when she just smiles.

“I know this is scary, and half the time I don’t even know what I’m doing. It’s just like a reaction that my body does on its own. No matter what we will get through this together.”

I just nod giving her the softest kiss on her lips when I pick her up and slowly angle my way out of the bathroom to the bed. I lie down on my side while she snuggles next to my chest, and soon we are both sound asleep. We will have a big morning of dealing with everyone that is down in the dungeon.

When the morning comes and the sun starts to rise I know what has to be done and quickly mind link all the remaining guards to make sure the borders are sound. No one has seen or heard anything so I think we’re ok for now. We all need a few extra hours of sleep and take it. The only reason I decided to drag myself out of bed is because I smell food. I guess Trinity did also because she jumped over me running to the closet for clothes.

Before I even got off the bed she was running out to the door when she just stopped in her tracks. She looked back at me and I smiled, motioning her to go. She squealed out loud and flung open the door when I saw all the other girls on the other side squeal. They all go running when I push myself off the bed heading for the closet. When I get in the closet I realize that the only clothes that fit me now are my exercise shorts.

I quickly mind link my beta to get all new clothes ordered. I have to have clothes to wear. I just decide to go downstairs in the shorts I have on and when I enter the kitchen area I see Misty with the other girls and they all just stare. I see all the girls sitting around eating when the other Alphas start filing in to grab food. I motion for them to grab plates to eat while I hang back.

I feel a hand on my forearm and when I look down I see Misty looking up at me so confused. I have to kneel down to remotely be on the same level as her when I just smile.

“You knew your daughter was special, and so did I. I just don’t think we bargained for how special.”

I start telling her about what happened last night and what has now happened to me and the gasps coming from the kitchen area just make me chuckle. I guess when you look at it from an outside perspective the whole story seems absolutely crazy. Yet here we are living it. The story is actually happening and we are smack dab in the middle of it.

I see Misty look over at Trinity when she excuses herself. I watch when she mentions something to the other girl and walks out the back clearly upset. I look over at Trinity who is oblivious so I tail after Misty. I go through the kitchen and out the back and when I exit she is a few yards away.

“Misty!”

I see her stop in her tracks, clearly upset covering her mouth when she turns around with tears streaming down her face.”

“You knew! Didn’t you! You knew that’s what she was!”

“Alpha please. Let’s walk and I will tell you all I know.”

I just nod and we start walking along when she starts explaining everything and I just listen.

“Alpha, I did know she was special. I knew there was a chance my position could be passed on, but I prayed she wouldn’t ever be put in that position. I see the other girls with her and they all look just like their mothers. Years ago a couple months after I turned eighteen the position was handed down to me from my mother. I had no clue though at that time. I had already met my mate, and thought he was amazing. We mated and next thing I knew he left and was never to be heard from again. Weeks went by then I found out I was pupped which scared me but at the same time I then found out who I truly was, and was so scared for the baby. I then came face to face with Baphomet, that’s when I found out who my mate really was. I was absolutely devastated. The Moon Goddess gave me a second chance mate to help me with the pup. Baphomet left knowing I was pregnant but assumed it was by my new mate. Later we had a huge battle and we won, or so we thought. But now that I see all the girls together he must be back for revenge. Except he doesn’t know Trinity is his. So not only does she have my powers, but also his apparently.”

“What does that mean Misty? What do you mean by his powers?”

“She pulled the heart out of the demon right? That isn’t the limit of what she can do. We will have to talk to the Moon Goddess.”
