“Grandpa, hold on, I don’t need all of that! That’s too much!” Elisa exclaimed. 

John chose many accessories, from earrings and rings, but Elisa didn’t like buying them all. 

“Why not? If you’re scared I’ll spend too much, then worry less, replied John. He waved his hand and was about to choose another set of accessories. Still, Elisa halted him again and made him curious. 

“I know, but I meant that can I choose for myself instead?” Elisa stared at John’s eyes. “Even if you loved choosing it all, I don’t want it. I want something else.” 

“If you want to choose on your own, then you are free to select,” said John, who pointed at the tray full of accessories the attendant showed. 

Elisa sighed in relief. She thought of something that wouldn’t be available in the store, so John would urge her not to buy anything for her.

“Oh, we have that here. One moment, I’ll bring it for you to see,” said the shop assistant, who then left. 

Elisa was stunned. She was kidding and didn’t expect she would buy some gold bars now. Since she said it. then she couldn’t take it back. 

“Why do you like gold bars? Out of the blue, John asked and was puzzled. “Are you just trying to say it as you don’t want me to buy you?” 

Elisa waved her hand and explained, “It’s not like that. I just really wanted to have gold bars. It is okay if you don’t want to buy me Grandpa,” 

“I will buy it for you, dear. Worry less, replied John. 

Later, the two shop assistants went to their seats with two trays of gold bars. 

Upon seeing it, Elisa’s eyes widened in astonishment. It was her very first time seeing gold bars that close. 

“Since my granddaughter wants gold bars, I want to buy those two.trays,” said John. 

“Grandpa, but…” 

“Oh, don’t worry. Anything you like, I can give it to you,” John reasoned. “Besides, it’s just like Robert buys it for you as a gift, and it’s his card we will use again to buy it.” 

That made Elisa blink twice, and she almost had no face for Robert. She anticipated Robert would be furious and assured he would think she was forcing John to buy her a lot. 

Seeing John hand Robert’s card to the shop assistant, Elisa returned to her senses. Yet when she heard the shop assistant mention that it was worth hundreds of thousands, she almost collapsed in her seat. 

‘I hope Robert won’t argue with me, she thought and crossed her fingers. 

“Elisa,” John called. “I see that you are somewhat worried. As I always told you, you do not need to be scared. Robert will understand. You are the wife.”

Meanwhile, Yan and Olivia looked at both of them in wonder. Yan was aware that the day he saw Elisa with that old man, she reasoned the two didn’t know each other, but at that time, he was confused as to why the two suddenly went shopping, just the two of them. He knew something was wrong. 

“It’s shocking to see you’re with Grandpa shopping. I know he’s not your relative. Is he your lover? Why would you introduce him to us?” Olivia said, mocking both of them. 

John was already furious deep inside him but didn’t want to interfere. He shut his mouth and wanted Elisa to handle this on her own. 

“You sound too concerned with me, but no, I won’t introduce him to you both,” said Elisa. She was about to walk past them, but Olivia stood in front. 

“We are worried about you, Elisa. We are a family, and even Yan is worried about your safety with this grandpa,” Olivia said. 

Elisa smirked. It was a fake concern; she knew Olivia planned to do something else. 

“It’s the very first time you’ve been concerned about me, but I can assure you I am fine. Do I look like I’m not?” Elisa replied sarcastically. It seems like you have a problem. Hmm, anyway, we’ll leave first. If you are both here to shop, then go. No one will stop you 

Elisa held John’s arms and turned around to walk in another direction. However, Yan ran and stood before! them, stopping them from walking away.
