She had not expected her secret to be exposed after all these years. After over twenty years without her secret being discovered, she thought she was safe.

She had been too careless, but she would never agree to a divorce.

"You care about the children so much, Mr. Faye. If the kids know that their grandfather came all the way here at night to see them, they would be overjoyed!"

"Is Anthony home?"

"Yes, he is in the study room!"

"Is he still stopping Anne from seeing the kids?"

"I'm not sure about that, but Mr. Marwood has been in a bad mood lately. Only the children dare to get close to him,” Hayden said.

Nigel stared at Chloe and tried to imagine Anne when she was smaller. He could not help but reach out to pat Chloe on the head with tears in his eyes.

Anne was not around, so being close to Chloe was the closest he could get to comfort.

"Umph..." Chloe moved and opened her eyes. "Grandpa?"

Nigel immediately jolted away and suppressed his sorrow before whispering, "Did I wake you?" "Maybe I woke up because I can sense you here," she said with a soft voice.

Nigel's heart melted.

"Grandpa, hug me..." Chloe raised her arms sweetly.

Nigel felt as though he could reach for the stars for her and went to pick her up before placing her on his lap and tapping her gently on the back. "Let Grandpa put you back to sleep.”

Not wanting to sleep, Chloe batted her eyes at him. "Do you miss Mama, Grandpa?"

Nigel was shocked that such a young child could read his mind. "What makes you say that?" "Because I look like Mama!"

"Yeah. Chloe, you are the spitting image of your mom." Nigel did not deny it, as missing his daughter was not something to be ashamed of.

"We miss Mama, too, but Papa keeps saying that Mama is on a business trip and hasn't come home.” Chloe pouted. "Can you take us to Mama?"

"Your dad is right. Your mom is busy right now. She will come back to see you once she is free." "That takes so long...” Chloe was slightly disappointed.

It was normal for children their age to long for their mother, and Nigel could not help but feel angry at what Anthony had done.

"I want to dream of Mama, but I've never dreamed before..." Chloe said.

Amused, he chuckled and pinched her chubby cheeks. "Why don't you try going back to sleep? Maybe you will dream of your mom."

Chloe closed her eyes hopefully and drifted off to sleep.

Nigel watched over her with gentle eyes, unable to let go until he heard footsteps and saw Anthony stepping into the bedroom.
