Chapter 1403

When Corentin arrived, the butler hurried inside and whispered something into Cory's ear.

Cory walked out of the living room and saw Corentin getting off of the electric bike while Ashlynn parked the bike, finally understanding why there were noises during the call.

“What is wrong with these two? They are riding a bike? What kind of hobby is this? As expected of people growing up in the slum. How unbecoming,” he thought.

If Ashlynn was who she was in the past, Cory would have lectured her about it, but knew that the situation had changed.

Ashlynn was the long-lost daughter of the Hilton Family.

He ignored the sight and returned to the house.

Once they all sat down by the table, Cory said, “Do you like these? If there's something you want, let me know and I'll tell the cook to make it.”

Ashlynn glanced at the delicacies on the table and knew that the feast was made for her. Cory had preferred plainer tastes and he would have never treated her with such kindness in the past. Naturally, she knew what caused the change in his attitude and said, “It's fine. This is great as it is.” "Very well. Eat up, then.” Cory narrowed his eyes gently.

Corentin ignored the two and ate as though it did not matter if Cory treated Ashlynn with kindness. After dinner, the three sat down for tea and Cory’s tone toward Ashlynn had made a drastic turn. “By the way.” He set down his cup. "Since you have gotten married, you should organize a wedding soon. It's the marriage that will join the Hiltons and the Lloyds, so we ought to have the wedding of the century.”

Ashlynn froze, surprised by Cory’s words. Sensing Corentin’s eyes on her, she said, “Maybe later!” The look in Corentin’s eyes sharpened, but she continued regardless, “My grandfather has just passed away. Having a wedding shortly after would be inappropriate.”

“I guess I'm being inconsiderate.” Cory realized that he was rushing into it. “It's too late, though. The Lloyds are prepared and Corentin is going to give you an unforgettable wedding.”

Ashlynn did not respond.

On their way home, they did not take the electric bike because the sky was dark, so they took the Bently

instead.

It might be fun to ride an electric bike for everyone in a while, but it could get tiring to ride long distances.

She leaned on the window drowsily and Corentin pulled her over so that her head rested on his lap. She did not resist and closed her eyes, not seeing the point to resist when she could lay her head on somewhere more comfortable.

As soon as she shut her eyes, he started rubbing her chin with his fingers.

Though Salvatore managed to put on the perfect act as Corentin, the skin on his hands remained as rough as they were before.

"Anything you wish to say?” Corentin asked.

She laid on his lap and his shadow loomed over her.

She opened her doe-like eyes and said, “What?” “You don’t want a wedding, do you?”
