We decided to put up a sendoff party for Gabriel and Lona. Of course I was part of the planning team but I couldn’t put up any for money for fear of raising suspicions. Everyone is drinking and in a pretty good mood. Sasha came here early to help with putting up the deco though if you ask me I feel she just did it because she always wants to be away from me whenever she can. The night she told me about the divorce, I denied her the pleasure of having to throw me under the bus but I know that she is dying to get out of the marriage.

‘How is the farm doing?’ Musonda asks.

I opened up to him about what I used the money for. I have come to realize that he is the only one in the group that I can trust with my information.

‘I can’t believe how well it’s coming up, even the building projects are better than I anticipated.’

‘As long as you have the money and good workers projects get to move really well.’

‘And the marriage?’ he asks putting the word marriage in inverted commas.

‘She wants a divorce.’

‘Finally.’

‘I refused to give her one.’

‘What?’

‘She asked for it months back, but I wasn’t about to give her the pleasure of hurting me and being the one to walk out.’

‘So you want to stay with her?’

‘No, my lawyers have already prepared the papers. Its just a matter of time before I serve her.’

‘Wow, I would I have never guessed that you would walk out of the marriage.’

‘Well, it’s good that I will be taking all of you by surprise.’

‘Where is the groom?’ I ask changing the topic because I notice that he, Zara and Zac are missing.

‘Obviously somewhere causing more trouble.’

I shake my head. I have interacted with Musonda on so many levels and I can tell that he has this hate for Gabriel which is not healthy and I have tried to talk to him about it but he can’t seem to change.

Lona and Sasha walk towards us. The way Sasha is trying to dance and walk I can tell that she has had so much to drink and it might be time to get her on some water. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t want her embarrassing herself.

‘Maybe it’s time you took some water right?’ I ask when they get to where we are. I am about to walk past her when she pulls me back.

‘Sasha what’s up?’

‘So that’s the only thing you can manage to do right?’

‘Let me get you some water.’

‘You can’t provide but you can get water? Which you didn’t even buy huh?’

‘Sasha.’

‘Leo I am tired of you.’

At this point I can proudly say that I know her and she might be drunk but these are sober thoughts. She has been bottling up all these emotions.

‘Look at your friends, all of them are doing something for themselves but you are not. You just come to a home that I bought, eat the food that I have cooked and bought with my money. I even buy the clothes that you wear and as if all this isn’t enough you can’t satisfy me in bed!’ She yells.

‘I think you have had a little too much to drink.’ I say trying to look strong even though the embarrassment is just too much.

‘A little too much to drink? Leo I have been keeping this inside for a very long time, I can’t hold it in any more.’

She pauses.

‘Do you want to know why we don’t have children? It’s because I got a contraceptive injection for five years. I am not about to bear children for you when you can’t even provide for me!’

‘I thought you lost your womb after the miscarriage?’

She laughs out loudly.

‘And you bought that rubbish? Leo you are not the type of man whose seed I would want to bring into this world!’

Gabriel moves to where she is trying to drag her away.

‘Let me go Gabriel, someone needs to tell Leo how to treat a woman. Someone needs to teach him how to be a little like you.’

‘Sasha you decide to have an outburst today out of all days really?’ Lona asks.

‘Oh hell Ms perfect. Pardon me for ruining your day.’ Sasha responds.

‘And what is that supposed to mean?’

‘You act like you are so perfect when you are insecure about a lot of things. But I won’t even get into that, how about you ask your man why he and his bestfriend were not talking? How about you ask him how he got those bruises on his knuckles because honey he was beating someone.’

Lona looks at Gabriel and Zac.

‘Oh, I will tell you since they both can’t speak. Since no one here can. Your husband to be is in love with bubbles over there and he spent two days in her house leaving you to plan your wedding alone!’

Lona looks at Gabriel again.

‘And you know what else? The night I had my miscarriage I had explosive sex with him! And it didn’t end there. We have been fucking in my office and we are not about to stop!’

‘Is it true?’

‘Lona.’ He begins.

‘Gabriel is it true?’

‘I think we need to talk.’

She shakes her head.

‘There is nothing to talk about, tomorrow you are going to wait on the alter for me and you will make me your wife. Gabriel you won’t come with me this far and embarrass me in front of the whole world.’

She turns to look at Zara.

‘As for you, I want you out of here and out of our lives!’

‘Did you really sleep at her place? Dude she is my sister.’ Zac says angrily.

‘Let us leave!’ I say looking at Sasha.
