Chapter 31

I have been sitted in the dark for a couple of hours now. The temptation to call Sasha has been high but I know where she is so it is pointless. I hear a car drive in and I take a long sip from my glass of whisky. I am not sure how many I have downed so far but I just can’t stop. With each passing minute that she has been gone I have had all these thoughts in my head wondering how I got here. The door opens and she locks up then leans against it, I can tell this by the way she breathes out and the little sounds that she is making. I don’t make a sound, she removes her phone and starts to make a phone call. After a few rings the person she is calling picks up, she sounds a little excited as she tells the person that she has arrived safely. She goes on to say how the evening was perfect and she is looking forward to another. I listen on with sore ears until she finally finishes.

‘Jesus Leo what are you doing in the dark?’ She screams when she turns on the lights

‘Good evening wife.’

She composed herself and I can see her trying to come up with a smart thing to say.

‘I took Lona home and then I couldn’t get her in bed because she was puking her lungs out and I needed to help her clean up.’

She is trying so hard to explain herself but I am not reacting or responding.

‘How much have you had to drink Leo? You don’t look so well.’

I breathe out deeply then stand up.

‘Do you remember when we bought the house and you insisted on putting the invisible cameras?’

‘And you were against them?’

‘I was Sasha, but then I gave it a second thought and figured why not.’

I pace about the room for a few seconds.

‘So I went ahead and had them installed. I didn’t realise then that they would ever come in handy until I heard how Gabriel was talking about you and how the two of you were looking at each other. You driving Lona home was just some total bull crap and everyone could see through it. Because why would you my pregnant wife be making the drop off when I was there?’

‘I don’t know what you are talking about.’

‘You don’t need to know what I am talking about because you know what you did.’

I take a long sip from the glass and put it down.

‘You know what Leo, I have had it with you. How long are we going to pretend to be a happy couple? Both you and I know that every night before going to bed you think of what your life would have been with her! Stop pretending that you even feel any ounce of love for me because you don’t! You are only with me because of this baby!’

‘I have never told you that I love you have I?’

She opens her mouth to say something but then closes it.

‘Sasha you and I both know why we are in this, this child is not going to be raised outside wedlock.’

‘I know that, which is why I made out with Gabriel in the kitchen! Which is why I had no regrets about going to his house and having sex with him. For the record Leo he is a better man than you are in all angles, Gabriel would never make any bad financial decisions and he certainly won’t have sex with a woman and cum first before she does. He worshipped my body, he treated me like a queen whilst the only time I ever had sex with you, you only cared about satisfying yourself and in the process ending up with this stupid baby!’

‘Stupid baby?’

‘What? You think I want to play happy family with you?’

The disgust on her face almost cuts through me.

‘Leo you don’t have to try and pretend because you know, you will never be man enough for me. After what Gabriel and I shared tonight I am sure we will be happy. I don’t have to be in this facade of a marriage anymore, my man will come for me. And after I put to bed we are going to be one happy family.’

I laugh.

‘Unfortunately wifey you are stuck with me because your bestfriend just got engaged and they are no cameras in this house. You just told me everything!’

‘Engaged?’

‘Check her Instagram, whilst he was busy giving you mind blowing orgasms he had left a ring on her finger which she has woken up to. How is that for a good man and the one you want to spend the rest of your life with huh?’ I ask and walk away
