outside.

Gareth gripped the steering wheel with force. With his right hand, he pinched between his brows and

closed his eyes tight.

He took a deep breath and shifted the gear on the count of the green light.

Before he reached his destination, Gareth stopped behind a building. Another vehicle was approaching

in front of Elisa’s doorstep.

He recognized that car.

Eventually, Carle and Elisa exited the vehicle. Gareth noticed that Elisa had not changed her dress.

He sneered. It really was Elisa!

“Elisa, thank you,” said Carle with a faint smile.

The day was already late, and Elisa wished him farewell. “It’s all right. You can go ahead and send

them back. It’s late, and I won’t be staying for the night.”

Fatigue had caught up with Elisa. All she wished to do was go back and rest.

Carle, at that point, could sense Elisa’s fatigue. He hastily replied, “You should go to bed early. Let’s

meet at another time.”

Carle’s gaze was filled with adoration for her.

Elisa noticed this and nodded awkwardly. “I’ll see you off then,” she answered.

He initially planned to send her upstairs but knew Elisa too well that there was no way to change her

mind. He finally nodded in agreement.

As Carle drove off, Elisa headed back to her doorstep.

At the elevator, she pressed the button to her floor before a figure approached. The door was about to

close before a hand stopped it midway. Gosh!
