Jolting awake, Madison realized she was alone in the room. She felt relieved that it was just a dream. Soon after, she took in that she had spent the entire night in the study, and not one soul in the Preston family bothered to check on her. If it weren’t for my sheer luck. I might lave died in this study last night, she thought to herself. 

The lingering dread and pain from the dream still sent chills down her spine, while the utter disregard of the Preston family instilled a fresh wave of cold disappointment.. 

At this moment, Regina and Daisy were outside her room. Daisy said, “I saw her bleeding a lot, and she still hasn’t woken up. Could she be dead!” 

“All the better if she is. I’ll free up the place for Alison and will save the trouble for your brother,” answered Regina. 

Madison’s heart twitched when she heard that name. No wonder Neville rarely came home lately. It turned out that his sweetheart. Alison Conner, had returned, she thought. 

Even though Alison had been gone for three years, her name haunted Madison like a curse. 

Neville liked to make Madison kneel and would passionately call out Alison’s name when they had s**.

“If you want to die, die far away. Don’t drag us down! Daisy cursed. 

Madison looked at them with her bloodshot eyes. “Tll consider having cooked for you in the past as a good deed, but from now on, I won’t bestow my kindness because you don’t deserve it. And listen up, I won’t die, and I will strive to stand where you can’t reach and live well.” 

Regina, used to Madison’s compliance and gentleness, was enraged by her dismissive and cool response. “You’ve lost your mind. you b*tch. I’ll make sure Neville divorces you!” she snapped. 

Madison sneered, “Great. Even if he doesn’t put forward it, I will raise the divorce myself.” 

Regina added, “Don’t forget how eager you were to offer your kidney and beg Neville to marry you!” 

Everyone in the Preston family knew that Madison was infatuated with Neville. 

To put it bluntly, she was at his beck and call. At a mere wave from him, she would come running. Even if he had asked for her life, Madison probably would have willingly given it. 

Regina just couldn’t believe Madison would abandon this hard–won marriage.

Madison wiped her tears and said, “I was blind and foolish before, but not anymore” 

Regina was about to say something when Madison coldly said, “Get lost. I feel disgusted just looking at you” 

In a fit of rage. Regina was about to let loose when Daisy dragged her out 

Madison’s furious stare was terrifying, making her seem as if she would kill them at any moment. 

They had never seen Madison like this. 

“Mom, don’t you think Madison is different from before?” Daisy asked. She was shocked by Madison’s aura just now. 

“That b*tch has been off since yesterday. Maybe she’s out of her mind. Neville will deal with her when he gets back, Regina 

answered. 

Daisy lowered her voice and said, “Mom, do you think she found out about Neville’s secret?” 

Regina’s heart skipped a beat, but thinking that Neville was cautious and could even deceive Aidan Preston, his grandfather, Regina didn’t believe he’d spill his secret to Madison. 

“Watch your mouth, or you won’t stay in the Preston family,” Regina said. 

Regina immediately sent a message to Neville, vividly describing Madison’s abnormal behavior.

Regina was furious and said, “You b*tch, even if you come crawling back, I won’t let you in 

Madison retorted, “You’re overthinking I’m not foolish enough to make the same mistake twice.” 

Regina and Daisy were left stunned. They never expected the formerly gentle Madison to be so different today. She was so sharp. 

Little did they know that the obedient and gentle Madison from before had long died with her unborn child on the operating table, as well as in the indifference of the Preston family last night. 

When she reached the door, Madison suddenly stopped and said, “Mrs. Preston, congratulations. You’re about to welcome your daughter–in–law you’ve always wanted. Just a reminder, drinking too much improper soup might lead to infertility. Beware that the Preston family might end up without descendants!”

Madison arrived at the Preston Group with two divorce agreements, only to be rejected by the security personnel. 

The guard, brimming with arrogance, said, “Miss, sorry, without an access card, no one is allowed in.” 

Madison said, “I am Mrs. Preston. Please inform Neville that I need to see him.” 

The security guard sneered, “I haven’t heard of Mr. Preston being married. Can you come up with a better excuse? We drive out hopeful women like you every day.” 

Madison snorted. It was no surprise the security guard didn’t know about her marriage to Neville. Their wedding was totally hush–hush, and Neville didn’t even make an appearance. She completed all the ceremonies alone, holding their wedding photo. 

And that wedding photo was photoshopped because Neville refused to have a photo with her. 

Just a handful of people in their circle knew about their secret marriage, and Neville always treated this marriage as a disgrace. So, he would not mention it to outsiders, and few people knew Madison as his wife. 

Madison was about to call Neville when a mocking voice was heard. “Miss Guzman, are you looking for Neville? Let me take you there.” 

Madison felt a bone–chilling cold at the familiarity of the voice.
