I have no idea how long I laid sobbing in the woods. Suddenly I felt a pair of strong arms circling me that made my body tingle. Logan pulled me to him. “I’m sorry I ran off, I was so ashamed of what I did to you. My wolf finally talked to me and told me the truth. He knew that you are my mate so he marked you. He was in control that night.” “I thought you were mad at me and thought I was easy or something.” I sobbed. “No, I’m not mad at you,” Logan softly replied brushing my hair off my cheeks. “My wolf was so pissed at me for not listening to him he has pretty much shut me out for the last year. Somehow our wolves knew they were destined to be mates before us, they were waiting for us to catch up.”

I smiled at him through my tears. “I have loved you a long time, you are the only one for me.” Logan took a few crumpled tissues from his jeans pockets and handed them to me. I cleaned up my face and blew my nose. He stood up and reached out his hand. “Come on babe, he said softly, we have a cabin to get to.” He helped me up and we went back for my suitcase and headed for the car. We reached the cabin in a couple hours. Logan’s parents had stocked it with fresh sheets, towels and food while we were still at school.

The door shut behind us and we held each other for a while just soaking up the feelings for each other. We started kissing and a weekend of passion flew by quickly. We both emerged mated and marked.

Logan is going to graduate and get a job in welding and I am going to architectural college to specialize in green plumbing and heating options. We are going to try to be careful to not get pregnant while finishing school but with being a shifter birth control can be iffy. If it doesn’t work the pack will help with day care.

Since we are the new generation there will equality between us. Sure, I like being pampered sometimes but I don’t want to be locked in a gilded cage. It’s still a cage. We have a bright future ahead of us and already love each other completely.
