Chapter 174 You Have the Final Say

There were many splendid estates around here, including Byron's.

He was still worried about Athena. What if she didn't even realize she was hurt?

So he took her directly to his manor.

Athena had been asleep all the time.

Byron carried her to the bathroom and helped her take off the bloody bathrobe.

Seeing what she was wearing underneath, Byron's hands froze.

At this time, Athena woke up in a daze.

Seeing that the bathrobe had been taken off, she returned to her senses instantly. Hesitating for a moment, she explained, "I stabbed him in the eye before he could see it."

Hearing what she said, Byron was obviously relieved.

"Don't worry. I didn't let him touch me." Athena added.

"You think I'm worried about this?" Byron said in a deep voice.

He took a new bathrobe for her to put on.

"I don't want to wear this!" Athena's ears turned red. "You go out."

"I have seen your body many times before. Why are you shy now?" Byron said helplessly, but his heart became inexplicably soft.

Athena frowned and said, "That bastard asked me to wear it. I don't want you to see it!"

Byron was slightly stunned.

"Okay. You have the final say in our family!"

Byron walked outside.

Athena was disgusted and quickly took off the red dress that made her sick.

She took a deep breath after putting on the warm, soft bathrobe.

Her hands were still trembling at the moment, but she had mostly calmed down.

"I'm done," she said.

Byron then came in.

And then he helped Athena take a bath.

After all the blood had been washed away, the bruises on Athena's cheeks and neck were shocking. Byron's expression was terrifying.

But he was afraid that getting angry would scare Athena, so he tried his best to suppress his anger.

"Does it hurt?" He looked distressed.

Athena hesitated for a moment.

Somehow, at this point, she didn't want to pretend to be strong at all.

There were tears in her eyes.

And she nodded aggrievedly. "It hurts..."

Byron was even more heartbroken.

He held Athena tightly. "Don't worry. I'll make him pay!"

"What about the contract with the Ross family..."

"If the Ross family wants to protect him, then we don't need to cooperate with them!" Byron said without hesitation.

Just when he broke in, thinking she was dead, everything in this world became unimportant.

Athena never expected that Byron would say such a thing.

She didn't know if it was true or not.

After all, in the past, Byron would never tell such a lie just to coax her.

She put her arms around Byron's waist and hugged him tightly. "No matter what, thank you for coming to save me."

"You didn't think I was going to save you, right?" Byron asked.

There was a throbbing pain in his heart.

She wouldn't have fought Erik to death if she believed he would come.

Athena didn't speak.

And her tears fell silently.

"Okay. Don't think about it anymore." Byron stroked her back gently. "Get some sleep. I'm holding you."

"Okay."

Athena nodded.

She lay in Byron's warm arms, listening to his strong heartbeat, breathing in the smell of him that fascinated her.

Athena's body was exhausted, but she didn't feel sleepy at all.

Byron saved her from death tonight like a god. The moment she woke up to see him, the hard shell she had carefully armed was shattered in an instant.

The Pandora's box buried deep in her heart was thus wholly opened.

She could no longer suppress her attachment and affection for Byron.
