Chapter 166 Heartless

"The government had provided protection for this couple, leading them to assume different identities. Through a fortunate twist of fate, the couple finally found Stacy after several years and took her away when she faced that unfortunate incident," Gerard said.

"No wonder we couldn't find them no matter how hard we searched," Rose furrowed her brows and said.

"It actually wouldn't be that difficult to find them. But that couple changed their identities one more time and used some methods to destroy their files," Gerard replied.

"Then, is it true that Herman said Stacy is dead? Was it a lie?" Rose held onto a glimmer of hope.

Gerard shook his head.

"Before Stacy passed away, she contacted Sir William and told him about her situation and the child."

"Sir William thought she wanted to leave the child under his care and intended to meet her. However, Stacy said she just missed her father, and she mentioned how innocent and lovely her daughter was, hoping she would grow up carefree without getting involved with those powerful families."

Rose couldn't help but burst into tears again.

"It's because of me that Stacy was hurt!"

"Madam Stella, you did act unreasonably back then, but you were not the instigator!" Gerard gritted his teeth and said, "Anyway, I hope you can fulfill Sir William's dying wish and help him find his granddaughter."

"And that child!" Rose suddenly grabbed Gerard's wrist and asked, "How old is she?"

Gerard looked at Rose and asked, "Madam Stella, why do you think Sir William entrusted the child to you in the end?"

Rose's heart trembled suddenly.

Her face turned pale.

"Could she be Cato's child and my granddaughter?"

Gerard gently took Rose's hand off his wrist and said, "I still need to handle the will's arrangements. Please contact me if you have any further questions."

In the end, Gerard handed over Herman's urn to Rose.

Then, with his lawyer team, Gerard left directly, ignoring Lien's hysterics.

Rose was still in a daze.

Lien and Cato rushed to her.

"Mom, you can't give the inheritance to that illegitimate child!"

It looked like Lien had said something to Cato.

When Cato came out, he angrily shouted at his mother.

No man could tolerate being cuckolded.

Back then, the news of that incident spread like wildfire, and he became the subject of laughter for 20 years.

If others were aware that his father-in-law had left most of the inheritance to the illegitimate child, his pride would be irreparably damaged.

Rose looked at Cato.

A burst of anger surged to her.

She raised her hand and fiercely slapped Cato. "You bastard!"

Cato covered his face, feeling dizzy.

"What are you doing?" Lien rushed over.

Jaxson pushed her, and Lien fell straight to the ground.

"Don't get close!" Jaxson warned.

His tone was extremely fierce.

Lien felt pain from the fall and began wailing.

"Heartless! You're all heartless!"

"Jaxson, how dare you?!" Cato yelled at Jaxson.

Jaxson glared at him and didn't say anything.

Cato backed down under Jaxson's gaze.

"Do you know what you've lost because of this vixen?!" Rose pointed at Cato and shouted, "How could I have a son like you!"

After saying that, Rose shook her head.

Rose took the urn and gently caressed it.

"Herman, it's my fault. I wronged Stacy...

"Let's go home. I'll take you home..."

Rose hunched over and refused to look at Cato and Lien again.
