Chapter 548 No More Involvement

Chapter 549 No More Involvement

Jadon stared straight at Carlotta, and the bit of gentlemanly elegance beneath his appearance was already at the edge of concealment.

Carlotta pursed her lips, and the hand hanging at her side twisted the hem of her skirt, "I..."

Not waiting for Carlotta to finish her words, Jadon had already reached out and hugged her into his arms.

Carlotta's body trembled and tried to break free of him, "Jadon."

Jadon put his arms around her tightly, "Honey, let me hold you for a while."

When Jadon's words were finished, the clerk standing on the side of the two covered her mouth and took the lead to leave with a smile.

Wearing a smile in her eyes, Faye turned around and also walked towards the door.

Faye stood in the doorway to catch a breath. Two clerks in the bridal store whispered.

"I always thought that love in middle age is just to find a partnership, but this couple look so romantic!"

"So it's never too late for love to appear, provided that you meet the right person."

Faye listened to the conversation between the two, with her eyes falling on the traffic coming and going. Yes, it was never too late for love to appear, as long as one met the right person.

While Faye was thinking, a car suddenly stopped across the road.

Immediately after, Hank stepped down from the driver's seat.

Seeing this, Faye eyes became colder.

Hank looked at Faye across the road and mouthed a greeting, "Faye, haven't seen you for a long time."

Faye looked at him captiously. She turned around, walked to the front desk and told the clerk, "Please tell my auntie later that I have something to do at work and I'm leaving first." The clerk nodded, "OK."

Faye, "Thank you."

Faye stopped talking and took a step towards the door.

Today was the day of Carlotta trying on her wedding dress. Faye was not willing to let her see Hank. It would only add the unhappiness in Carlotta's heart.

Stepping from the bridal store, Faye drove away.

In the car, Faye made a phone call to Hank.

The phone was picked up. Faye spoke in a light voice, "Let's find a place to have a talk."

Hank replied, "Do you choose the place?"

Faye, "There's a coffee house up ahead."

Hank readily agreed, "Good."

Hanging up the phone, Faye pressed down hard on the gas.

Faye didn't expect Hank would come to her. After all, Tiffany and Blaine died and left him a mess. Now he was very busy.

While she was thinking, the car arrived at the coffee house.

Faye got out of the car and went into the coffee house to find a box. Then she took out her phone and sent a message to Hank. After a while, Hank pushed the door and entered.

Their eyes met. Faye looked indifferent, and Hank's eyes were dim.

Faye, "Take a seat."

Hank replied an 'hmm', stepped in the door and sat down opposite Faye.

Seeing that Hank was seated, Faye spoke coldly, "What do you want to drink?"

Faced with Faye's indifference, Hank smiled bitterly, "Whatever."

Faye turned her head to look at the waiter standing at the door and ordered two cups of Blue Mountain Coffee.

After ordering coffee, the atmosphere in the box was awkward for a while.

The two had not seen each other for too long, in addition so many things happened in the middle. The minimal affection once existed between them had gone.

After a few minutes of silence, Hank took the initiative to speak, "How have you been lately?"

A corny and cheesy prologue.

Faye replied coldly, "Very good."

Hank took a breath, "Too many things happened at home recently. I haven't been able to get over it yet."

Faye looked indifferent and didn't reply.

Seeing that Faye did not speak, Hank looked down at the table.

Just as the two were at an impasse again, the waiter knocked on the door and walked in, bringing two cups of coffee in front of them.

Faye lifted her eyes to the waiter and smiled lightly, "Thank you."

The waiter smiled back, turned to leave, and closed the door when he went out.

With the door closed, Faye picked up the coffee in front of her and took a sip. Then she put it down and looked at Hank, "I have something to do later. You might speak frankly if there is anything I can do for you."

Hank heard this and his hand holding the coffee cup tightened, "Faye, I want to ask you to do me a favor..."

Faye, "Go ahead."

Hank," I want you to help me protect Helen and Nylah if something happens to me."

Hank stopped talking, and Faye responded in a cold voice, "Sorry, I can't help you."

Hearing Faye's words, Hank's face looked terrible.

Faye looked straight at Hank and said, "Colin and I don't want to be involved with anyone in the Farrells anymore."

Hank gripped his coffee cup tightly, "Faye."

Faye, "In the face of what you are not sure of, I advise you better not do it."

Hank was dumbfounded and silent.

Seeing that Hank no longer speak, Faye got up to leave. When she walked to the door, Hank spoke behind her, "Faye, I'm sorry...' When Faye's footsteps stopped, Hank continued, "I apologize to you for my mother."

Faye twisted the door handle to open the door, and her voice was steady, "No need. I don't accept."
