Chapter 438 Fiction

The message was sent from York's personal number.

When seeing the message, Colin narrowed his charming eyes.

What a cunning old man. He only showed up after Old Mr. Farrell died.

He had moved carefully every step on the way, afraid any accidents would happen.

Colin smiled in disdain and rotated his phone on his palm. Several minutes later, he leaned forward and landed a kiss on Faye's cheek. "Honey."

Faye had always been a light sleeper/ However, after sleeping on the same bed with Colin, she would always oversleep.

Sensing that Colin was talking to her, Faye withdrew into the quilt.

Colin chuckled when seeing this and said, "Honey, you can't sleep on today."

Originally Faye's eyes were exposed outside the quilt. But when she heard the words, she withdrew her whole head into the quilt and only several locks of her hair were exposed.

Colin curled up his thin lips into a smile and reached out to play her exposed hair with his fingers.

Faye struggled but soon became quiet.

Colin chuckled, let go of her hair, and then hugged Faye with the quilt between then. "Faye."

In a daze, Faye finally spoke, "I'm so sleepy."

Colin laughed out and said, "You can't sleep on though. My grandfather passed away."

Faye was stunned and she didn't reply.

Finding that Faye was silent, Colin continued, "Brandon shows up."

Faye emerged from the quilt and asked, "What?"

Colin landed a kiss on her lips and said, "He's now in the Farrells' Mansion."

Colin teased when seeing Faye's response, "Aren't you sleepy now?"

Faye replied, "I'm curious about him."

Colin said with a smile, "Me too."

He had plotted it for years and had been powerful enough to directly topple Old Mr. Farrell, but he had been enduring humiliation and hiding behind the scenes and only showed up and gave Mr. Old Farrell a critical hit after he was sick in bed.

For such kind of a person, no matter he was your friend or enemy, his schemes and thoughtfulness could not be looked down upon.

Forty minutes later, Colin and Faye arrived at the Farrells' Mansion.

Though Tiffany hated Old Mr. Farrell to the core, she had been dedicated in acting.

Colin stopped the car outside the yard and walked into the mansion hand-in-hand with Faye.

The Farrells' Mansion had white clothes hanging on every place, including the gate. And the mourning hall was set up in the greenhouse that Old Mr. Farrell liked the most when he was alive.

As soon as Colin and Faye stepped into the backyard, they heard Tiffany's hysterical cries.

Some people from the branches of the Farrell family beside her were consoling her as Tiffany had fainted several times when crying.

"Tiffany, don't be too sad. You can't revive the dead."

"Yep. Old Mr. Farrell treated you like his own daughter when he was alive. If he sees this in the heaven, he will also feel sad."

"Old Mr. Farrell and Blaine all passed away and many things in the Farrell family are waiting for you. If you fall sick, who else will be able to take care of the Farrell family?"

This kind of fence sitter was very common in rich families.

Especially in the branches of rich families, there were many of this type.

After all, these people were like parasites and they would support anyone who could bring benefits to them.

Tiffany choked when hearing their consolation.

She said in a choked voice, "You're right, and I know it. But I can't control myself."

"When thinking that Mr. Old Farrell was so nice to me when he was alive, I..."

Tiffany was interrupted by a maid as the latter trotted to her, leaned forward, and whispered into her ear. "Madame Farrell, Mr. Colin Farrell and his wife are back."

Tiffany replied "I see" in sobs as a response.

Soon after the maid's report, Colin and Faye walked into the mourning hall. Tiffany looked up at them and said in a crying voice, "Colin, Faye, you're back. Come here to mourn your grandfather." Colin curled up his thin lips into a smile, walked forward and burned some incense sticks.

Faye followed him. When she was about to take the incense sticks from the servant, Colin stopped her.

Faye looked up at him. Colin leaned forward and whispered into her ear, explaining, "He doesn't deserve it."

Faye's eyelids trembled.

Colin stood straight and took the incense sticks from the servant without any expressional change. He didn't kneel down and simply made a bow.

When Colin finished the mourning, a middle-aged woman standing beside Tiffany asked in a voice which was neither too loud nor too low, "Colin, why didn't you kneel? And Faye didn't even burn incense to pray. It's too..."

Before she could finish the words, Colin shot a cold glance at her.

She was choked and became silent.

Tiffany hurriedly explained when seeing this, "Colin has been like this since young. Old Mr. Farrell knew about his temper the most. It would be freak if he suddenly kneels down. As for Faye, Colin has been spoiling her, so it's enough for one of them to burn incense sticks to show respect."

Tiffany fully showed the generosity and tolerance what a step-mother was supposed to have in a few words.

And she slandered Colin at the same time.

Colin was clear of it, but he didn't exposed it in the public. He said, "Mom, you know me well."

Tiffany forced a smile and said, "Colin, if you think this place is disorderly, you may take Faye to the front courtyard. It's quiet."

Colin smiled mockingly. He didn't refuse it and said, "Then mom, thank you for dealing with the affairs here."

He turned around and left with Faye after finishing the words.

They walked out of the mourning hall. Just as they had taken two steps, they bumped into Maxwell who was coming to mourn.

None of the three stopped.

When Maxwell walked past Colin, he said in a voice which could only be heard by them two, "Brandon is in the front hall. You'd better not go there."
