Chapter 385 A Trap

For Faye, it was not only happy but also lucky to marry Colin.

If she had not broken into Colin's room but anyone else's, they would probably have parted ways and had bad blood between them by now.

Galen was waiting quietly for Faye's reply.

Faye curved up the corner of her mouth and uttered in a low voice, "Mm-hmm."

Galen had been working with Faye for so long. Certainly, he knew that Faye was not someone who liked to do PDA. He smilingly pushed the asset transfer agreements to Faye.

Faye pressed her fingertips against the agreements and tapped twice. After a second thought, she took a pen and signed them.

After that, Faye looked up at Galen, asking, "Anything tricky today?"

Galen shook his head and answered, "No. There is only some gossip about the relationships of two artists, but some staff are dealing with it."

Faye uttered, "Good. I'll go to Mr. Farrell's office. Call me if needed."

Galen said, "There is nothing so far. Don't let me keep you!"

With that, Galen added in a low voice, "Stay there a little longer. Don't be in a rush to come back."

Faye said to Galen, "Work hard and don't slack off, otherwise I'll take away part of your salary."

Galen's voice became even smaller as he uttered, "Okay."

Faye walked out of the office and made a beeline for Colin's office with the agreements.

Before long, her mobile phone in the jacket pocket suddenly buzzed.

Faye fished out her phone. Taking a glimpse at the phone screen, she came to a halt.

Lance: [A trap.]

Faye: [What happened?]

Lance: [Are you available for a call now?]

Faye: [Wait a sec.]

A few minutes later, Faye reached the underground parking lot. She got into the car and dialed Lance's number.

Lance picked it up in a jiffy and asked, "Aren't you busy today?"

Faye uttered, "Just cut to the chase. What did you get?"

Lance cleared his throat and stated. "You asked me to investigate the secret Nylah knew, and I'm halfway through the investigation." Lance had always been prudent and efficient at work.

However, he had been dealing with it for a long time, yet he was only halfway through it, which surprised Faye.

Faye thought for a moment before asking, "Is it very tricky?"

Lance chuckled as he replied, "It's more than tricky. The situations of the Farrells are much more complicated than we thought." Faye asked, "Like how?"

Lance said, "There is someone behind Tiffany."

Faye was wordless.

There was someone else behind Tiffany?

No wonder Lance said it was a trap!

Hearing Lance's words, Faye was subdued. After about half a minute, Faye opened her mouth, "You haven't found out his identity, have you?"

Lance replied, "Yup. Besides, this person is so mysterious. If I am not an atheist, I would suspect that he was a ghost since not a single trace about him could be found." How meticulous and powerful could the figure be that he could wipe out all his traces?

Getting no response from Faye, Lance lowered his voice and asked, "Shall we continue to carry out the plans to deal with Tiffany?"

Faye took a deep breath and uttered, "Don't get yourself in it."

Hearing that, Lance was a little unpleasant and deliberately said, "What? You think I'm not competent enough?"

Faye lightly said, "You know that's not what I mean."

Lance stated, "I certainly know. We had a deal. I'll be the informer against the Farrells. If you want to get rid of me, I'll get in the way of your plan."

Faye was rendered speechless.

Worrying that Faye would take action in private, Lance said in a low voice, "I will continue to investigate this mysterious figure. Don't take a leap in the dark."

Faye said, "Stop your investigation. I'll send someone else to do it."

Lance knew that Faye had other contacts and that his identity in the Farrells could not be disclosed. Therefore, he did not refuse and readily agreed, "OK. You don't be impulsive, too." Faye let out a sigh and said, "Don't worry. I've endured it for so long. I won't be so stupid to lose control in the final stage."

She then fell silent for a while before asking, "Has Emmett left?"

Lance answered, "He's long gone. That brat even cheated me out of a sum of money."

Faye smiled and said, "Be nice to him. He's your only brother after all."

Lance scoffed and uttered, "If he weren't my biological brother, I would have killed him a long time ago."

After chatting with Lance for a short while, Faye hung up the phone.

In the car, Faye pondered about the mysterious figure behind Tiffany for a long time but still had no clue.

More than ten minutes later, Faye got out of the car with the agreements in her hands and took the elevator up.

The elevator went up slowly and stopped on the first floor. When the door opened, a man about 20 years old walked in. It was a young man of mature presence.

He was clad in a white suit with delight in his eyes, and there was an eye-catching mole under the corner of his right eye.
