Abbot's heart pounded crazily at Rebecca's words.

The next second, Rebecca leaned forward and wrapped her arms around Abbot's neck with a mischievous smile, saying, "You're touched, aren't you?"

Abbot felt slightly itchy in his throat as he uttered, "No."

Rebecca said, "I don't buy it."

Abbot looked down at Rebecca. After a moment of silence, Abbot said in a husky voice, "You are drunk."

Rebecca smiled gently. When she was about to speak, Abbot's mobile phone rang in his pocket.

Abbot darted a glance at Rebecca and fished out his phone with a frown. Seeing it was from Colin, Abbot felt his brow twitch.

Rebecca tilted his head and looked at Abbot. She asked in confusion drunkenly, "Who is it?"

Abbot was guilty and upset. He pulled Rebecca's hands on his neck away and got off the car before picking up the call.

In the video call, Colin looked like he had just taken a shower; his bathrobe was loose on him, and his hair was still very wet.

Colin asked, "Are you home already?"

Abbot answered diffidently, "Yup."

Colin was silent for a few seconds before asking with his eyes narrowed, "Did you move?"

Abbot was absent-minded and said, "Hmm?"

Colin fetched a pack of cigarettes from the nightstand. He bit a cigarette in the corner of his lips but didn't light it. "The night view of the suburbs looks good," said Colin.

Abbot was subdued.

It got awkward as it was silent.

Colin bored into Abbot, who remained silent, and smiled with the cigarette in his mouth.

Abbot felt uncomfortable being stared at like that by Colin and coughed twice. "I suddenly have some errands to run here," said Abbot.

Colin uttered meaningfully, "Oh, really? I thought you tricked some drunken girl to get a.. room at some hotel there since you were worried about bumping into acquaintances in the city." Abbot asked, "Am I that kind of person?"

Colin said, "Who knows? Cats hide their claws."

Abbot was about to retort. Suddenly, his assistant opened his mouth behind him, "Mr. Carter, the room for Ms. Black is ready."

Abbot bit his tongue

Colin teased, "Ms. Black?"

Abbot couldn't feel more awkward at the moment.

Abbot forced a smile and said, "It's not what you think."

Colin smiled faintly and uttered, "What was I thinking?"

Abbot gritted his teeth and brushed off Colin's question. He then turned to look at his assistant who was walking towards him and chided, "Help her in then. What's the point of telling me about that?" His assistant was rendered speechless.

Abbot continued, "What are you waiting for? Help her in!"

The assistant uttered, "Got it, Mr. Carter."

He then walked to the parking space.

As the assistant was about to reach the car, Abbot suddenly frowned and said, "Stop. Go get two others to help her."

He then added, "Two waitresses."

The assistant was speechless.

Catching sight of his assistant who looked confused, Abbot said, "I did it for your own good. Your girlfriend is so easily jealous. If she knows you touch another girl, won't you be given a hard time?" The assistant uttered, "Thank you, Mr. Carter."

He turned into the hotel and soon walked out leaving two waitresses in his wake.

The two waitresses gingerly helped Rebecca out of the car and up the steps into the hotel.

Abbot watched them the entire time. He raised his chin at his assistant, saying, "Give them tips and let them take care of her tonight."

His assistant uttered, "Copy that, Mr. Carter."

After that, Abbot turned around and got into the car. Darting a glance at Colin on the video call, he said impatiently, "What's up?"

Colin joked, "Nothing. I just have to watch you."

Abbot leaned back in his seat and said, "What for?"

Colin said, "Rebecca is Faye's bestie after all. I have to protect her from being walked over by you."

Abbot forced a smile and uttered, "God knows who's the one being walked over."

Colin laughed and stated, "That's your privacy. You don't have to tell me in detail. I just bumped into it today, and I can't pretend I didn't see it. I don't care about who walks over whom in private." Abbot glanced at Colin and threw his phone aside casually, uttering, "Just watch me If you want."

The car moved slowly, and Abbot closed his eyes to take a nap.

What Rebecca just said flashed through his mind.

"You still don't like me?

"You'd better think it through. If you miss out on this opportunity...

"If you miss it, I'll... I'll give you one more chance."

Abbot suddenly opened his eyes and looked sideways at his phone screen, saying, "Colin."

Colin smiled and uttered, "What?"

Abbot said, "I think Rebecca really likes me. She's just too embarrassed to say it out."

Colin paused for a few seconds and uttered smilingly, "You changed the topic so fast!"

Abbot continued, "At first, she might just want to mess with me, but after getting along with me for some time, she found that I was indeed awesome. Therefore, she fell head over heels in love with me. Do you think that's the case?"

Colin was subdued.

Abbot let out a long sigh and said to himself, "Quite possible."

Colin chuckled and said, "Abbot, just be honest, if you were a woman, would you like to have a boyfriend like you?"

Abbot was lost in thought.

After a few seconds, when Colin thought that his question had beaten Abbot, the latter replied seriously, "I can't even think about it. What a blessing it would be to have a boyfriend like me?!"
