Chapter 357 A Fake Couple

Chapter 357 A Fake Couple

Suddenly, there was an awkward silence.

When the two people who were forced to play a couple looked at each other, both of them could barely force a smile.

Seeing that the play was about to bomb, Camila glared at Abbot and said, "How can you be so petty! Every couple quarrels, right?"

Abbot was speechless.

Camila was good at acting, and she said, "Hurry up! Come here and apologize to Becca."

Abbot frowned, "Mom?"

When the middle-aged woman on the sofa heard Camila's words, she interjected with a smile, "Abby, you quarreled with your girlfriend?"

Abby? Abby?

Hearing Abbot's pet name, Rebecca looked down at the ground and couldn't help laughing.

She had not expected a narcissist like Abbot to have such a feminine and cute pet name.

Seeing her trying hard to hold back her laughter, Abbot showed an awkward and gloomy face in silence.

The middle-aged woman asked, "Abby, why don't you introduce your girlfriend to me?"

Abbot gave Rebecca an embarrassed look and said, "Her name is Rebecca Black, and she is running a garment company. Rebecca, this is my aunt." Abbot's aunt replied, "Good! Rebecca, you're a promising young woman."

Looking at Abbot's aunt's kind face, Rebecca couldn't imagine how she had shown off her future daughter-in-law before she had come.

Rebecca was forced to play Abbot's girlfriend, so she smiled politely at her.

Seeing Abbot sitting still, Camila reached out to pat the back of Rebecca's hand and said, "Becca, he won't come. Go there and take a seat by yourself."

Rebecca glanced at the sofa where Abbot was sitting, wondering where she should sit.

Before she could ask the question, Camila suddenly pushed her to the front of Abbot.

He raised his head to look at her while she lowered her head, smiled awkwardly with her back toward the others, and mouthed, "Mr. Carter, please cooperate." Abbot understood what she meant, so he glanced at Camila, stood up, and said dryly, "You sit here."

Rebecca whispered, "Thank you."

As soon as she sat down, Camila pushed Abbot onto the armrest of the single sofa.

Abbot was caught off guard and stumbled.

Seeing him about to fall to the ground, Rebecca quickly grabbed his arm and said in a low voice that only the two of them could hear, "Are you OK?" Abbot steadied himself, took two deep breaths, and replied with a gloomy face, "I'm fine."

She then nodded and retracted her hand.

Compared to Abbot and Rebecca's alienation, the young couple sitting across from them was extremely intimate.

They were leaning against each other, and when the man whispered to the woman, the latter blushed with shyness.

When Rebecca looked at them, the corners of her mouth twitched.

Abbot was also disgusted and looked at them with contempt.

When they exchanged glances, they both saw the dissatisfaction with that couple in the other's eyes. Rebecca and Abbot were a fake couple, but they were sitting opposite a real couple in the living room. Camila and Abbot's aunt were chatting all the time.

After a while, Camila got up and said, "I bought a vase at an auction two days ago. Let me show it to you."

Abbot's aunt got up with a smile and teased, "You like those flashy things the most."

After the two elders went upstairs, only the two young couples were left in the living room.

Looking at the two people who were becoming more and more unscrupulous without the elders present, Rebecca suddenly wished she could immorally break them up.

Rebecca had thought about it in her mind, but Abbot sitting beside her took action, saying, "She is not as pretty as the one you brought here last time."

Abbot leaned over to grab the cigarette case on the coffee table, pretending to mention the matter unintentionally.

The man opposite froze and then said, "Abbot, are you talking to me?"

Abbot said, "Yeah. That girl looked..."

He lit a cigarette, pretending to be recalling something. Rebecca instantly took his hint and echoed, "She looked in good shape."

Abbot glanced down at her, raised his eyebrows, and asked, "You remember her too?"

Rebecca said seriously, "Yes. After all, we met her not long ago. She looked gentle and lovely."

Abbot's cousin was completely stunned by their echoing each other, so he was at a loss for words for a long time.

He didn't realize what he should do until the woman in his arms pinched him in anger. Then, he hurriedly hugged her and explained, "Baby, they are joking with us. I have never brought any other woman to meet them..."

Rebecca said, "But you called that woman sweetheart last time."

Hearing this, Abbot's cousin looked at Rebecca in shock.

Seeing him not denying it, the woman in his arms thought it was true, so she pushed him away, stood up, and said angrily, "Bryson, I didn't expect you to be such a scumbag!"

Then, she left with anger in her high heels.

When Bryson got up to chase her, Abbot said coldly, "Do you have a brain? Have you inquired about her background? How can you plan to marry her so soon?"

Bryson said, "Abbot, Lillian is a good girl."

Abbot took the cigarette out of his mouth, stubbed it out, and said, "I saw her sitting beside a 60-year-old man in a nightclub last month. You know that man too. He is Austin of the printing house." Bryson was speechless.

He was first unbelievable, then became heartbroken, and finally pulled himself together. But the entire process had taken only five minutes.

Then, he walked up to Rebecca, reached out to her, and said, "Hi Faye, my name is Bryson George. Nice to meet you."

Rebecca deeply admired his ability to heal emotional wounds, so she readily shook hands with him.
