Chapter 324 His Final Assistance

As the saying went, "What goes around comes around."

At that time, there was something wrong with the project between Old Mr. Farrell and Tiffany's father. Old Mr. Farrell set the latter up. Consequently, Tiffany's father volunteered to bear all the blame himself and ended up in prison. Half a year later, Old Mr. Farrell took possession of Shaw Group.

Tiffany's mother was pressured to commit suicide. As for Tiffany, she was none the wiser about what Old Mr. Farrell had done and was even coaxed into marrying Blaine by him. Back then, Tiffany was pathetic and wretched.

For a few years, she had regarded Old Mr. Farrell as her own father. She even thought that if Old Mr. Farrell hadn't taken her under his wing, she would have become a nobody.

How moved she was when she was none the wiser, how abominable Old Mr. Farrell was in her eyes when she was in the know.

The night when Tiffany got to know the truth, she drowned her sorrows in a bar.

It was also then that she began to go astray and slept with Shepard Nash, then housekeeper of the Farrells.

A lot of old memories that year flashed across Tiffany's mind.

Old Mr. Farrell leaned against the headboard and tightened his hold on the water cup.

After a long time, Old Mr. Farrell suddenly tilted and flopped to the ground from the bed.

That brought Tiffany back to reality from her memories.

The water cup in the hand of Old Mr. Farrell who fell to the ground was shattered and cut his hand. Old Mr. Farrell then knelt on the ground with his bloody hands propping himself up on the floor hastily and awkwardly.

Tiffany watched him in astonishment as he knocked his head onto the ground heavily.

"Sorry."

Tiffany held her breath and clenched her fists. She dug her nails into her palms hard and questioned, "Do you think an apology can erase everything you've done?"

With his current physical condition, Old Mr. Farrell was too powerless to kneel properly.

It was more groveling than kneeling.

Tiffany sounded hysterical.

Old Mr. Farrell still knelt on the floor and uttered, "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. Believe it or not, I didn't want to do that at first."

Old Mr. Farrell's head was against the floor as he repented of what he had said and done back then.

Tiffany looked down at him with tremendous sadness in her eyes.

When he was tired from speaking too much, Old Mr. Farrell cried on the floor trembly.

Tiffany said in a husky voice, "I won't forgive you. Take your remorse directly to the grave."

Old Mr. Farrell said, "Tiffany."

Tiffany stated, "You not only murder my parents and gobbled up my family property, but also ruined the rest of my life. You knew Blaine didn't like me and he had eyes for someone else, but you still fixed us

up."

Speaking of Blaine, Tiffany's eyes turned red.

At one time, she also wanted to live a happy life with Blaine for the rest of her life.

No woman would aim to marry a guy who wouldn't like her back.

Tiffany's words were like a sharp knife piercing Old Mr. Farrell's chest.

Old Mr. Farrell lay prostrate on the floor in silence.

As Tiffany finished her words, it fell silent in the bedroom.

After a while, Tiffany gasped and asked, "You asked to see me not only to talk about this with me, right?"

Old Mr. Farrell replied in tears, "I know I won't live much longer, Tiffany. Farrell Media was founded by me from scratch. Now, you have most of the shares. Could you do me a favor and not make things too hard for Blaine in the future?"

Tiffany smiled sarcastically and uttered, "Sure enough, blood is thicker than water. At this point, you are still thinking about that useless son of yours."

Old Mr. Farrell added, "He is unable to get in your way. Please spare his life."

Tiffany sneered and did not respond.

As Tiffany walked towards the door, Old Mr. Farrell cried hysterically.

Tiffany opened the door, and the anger on her face had turned into kindness.

York spoke respectfully to her, "Mrs. Farrell."

Tiffany brushed the short strands of hair behind her ears and uttered, "Dad knows that he doesn't have too much time, and he is in a bad mood."

York said, "I will take good care of him."

Tiffany looked York up and down before continuing to walk ahead; she didn't take him seriously at all.

Right after Tiffany left, York entered the room and helped Old Mr. Farrell up to the bed.

The moment Old Mr. Farrell got back to the bed, he stopped crying, and he drew two issues from the box on the nightstand to wipe his tears. A second ago, he still looked remorseful and guilty, while now he appeared cold and ruthless.

After wiping his tears, he looked towards York and said, "The show just now is my last time to fulfill my duty as a grandfather."

York was expressionless and uttered, "I will truthfully tell Colin."

Old Mr. Farrell squeezed his eyes shut and continued, "I know he doesn't care about my assistance. I did that to make myself feel better before drawing my last breath."

Looking at Old Mr. Farrell's unusually calm face, York thought of everything he had just heard outside the door and truly admired Old Mr. Farrell's acting skills. He asked despite himself, "Have you ever felt guilty for what happened to Mrs. Farrell's father?"

Old Mr. Farrell opened his eyes and his cracked lips, uttering, "The law of the jungle is in the business community."

York was wordless.

Old Mr. Farrell added, "My tears definitely let Tiffany's guard down against Colin. I've thought it through. It's fine Colin doesn't want to take over Farrell Media. Anyway, he's one of the Farrells. Wherever he goes to start his own business, his glory also belongs to the Farrells."

A touch of disgust flashed across York's eyes, which was rare to see normally.

Downstairs.

Tiffany returned to the dining table smilingly and took her seat. "The old are just like kids. Dad said the breakfast wasn't to his taste and he wanted to have some coffee," said she.

However, none of them at the table gave her a reply.

Tiffany spread some strawberry jam on a toast and stole a glance at everybody. Then, she broke into a smile leisurely and continued, "Today's New Year's Eve. Why don't we make some pies later." Colin curved up the corner of his mouth and replied, "I second that."

Tiffany thought that Colin was in tune with her; she smiled and said, "Good kid."
