Chapter 296 The Plan Behind

Chapter 296 The Plan Behind

It was pin-drop silent in the bedroom.

Nylah stood behind Hank without saying anything.

Hank silently smoked a cigarette, put it out on the windowsill, and looked out of the window for a while. Then, he turned to look at Nylah and said, "How much did Blaine give you? Is it enough for you?" Nylah said, "Mr. Farrell."

Hank forced a smiled and uttered, "Sorry to have forced you to marry me at that time."

Nylah's heart skipped a beat, and she didn't reply to him.

Hank continued, "The Farrells are too complicated. Despite living here for 30 years, I'm still not in my element, let alone you. It must have been hard for you during this period of time."

With that, Hank wiped the smile off his face. He then fished out his mobile phone and called his lawyer to draw up a divorce agreement.

After the phone call, Hank smiled softly and uttered, "You know my lawyer, Croft. If you have any requirements, you can communicate with him in private. You can rest assured. I will try my best to satisfy you." When Hank finished his words, he walked out of the door.

Nylah watched Hank leaving and compressed her lips. Before he got out of the room, she asked, "Mr. Farrell, don't you blame me at all?"

Hank just touched the knob. Hearing what she said, he stopped in his tracks and looked back at her, asking, "Blame you for what?"

Nylah answered, "For selling you out."

Hank suddenly dissolved into laughter and said, "The Farrells are cruel, calculating, and greedy. Even I have no way to get myself out of it, let alone you." Nylah was subdued.

Hank looked at Nylah and chuckled as he continued, "I will probably go back to work in the company from tomorrow. If you feel embarrassed, you can apply for a transfer." Nylah clenched her hands on both sides and asked, "What if I don't want a transfer?"

Hank uttered, "Then you get on with your work as my assistant."

With that, Hank smiled faintly at Nylah. "Don't be pressured. You can set your mind at ease. I won't deliberately make things difficult for you."

Then, Hank wheeled around and turned the knob.

Hank walked out of the bedroom. No sooner did he go downstairs than he saw Samuel, who was drinking coffee with Old Mr. Farrell.

Old Mr. Farrell sat squarely, while Samuel crouched in front of the coffee table.

Old Mr. Farrell looked at Samuel with dissatisfaction and scolded, "Look at you. Sit properly."

Samuel said, "I'm squatting!"

Old Mr. Farrell pulled a long face without replying to him. It was obvious that he did not want to talk to Samuel.

Samuel was being lectured by Old Mr. Farrell for a while. Catching sight of Hank, Samuel stood up to greet him.

Hank met his eyes and raised his jaw slightly.

Samuel caught on immediately. He asked with a bright smile, "It is said that there is a new café across the street. Would you like to check it out with me?"

Hank nodded. Then, he went to the sofa and greeted Old Mr. Farrell before leaving.

When the two walked out of the old mansion, Hank let out a long sigh of relief.

Samuel stood by Hank's side and was smoking, looking like a hooligan. "Tired?" asked he.

Hank answered, "Mm-hmm."

Samuel said teasingly, "You're supposed to be. It's how life goes. Only the dead can rest in peace."

Hank sniffed and uttered, "Your thoughts are always different from the ordinary."

Samuel stated, "Sometimes people just can't get to the bottom of the truth behind."

The two stood at the gate of the old mansion for a while. When Samuel finished smoking, they drove away.

In the car, Hank spoke of what had happened in Hugh's office today, "About Hugh, I'm really sorry."

Samuel was driving with a look of indifference while saying, "It's fine. He is old enough anyway. He has been working hard all his life. It's time for him to enjoy a happy life now." "Mm-hmm," said Hank. Then, he closed his eyes for a rest. After some time, he opened his mouth, "I remember you and Faye used to live in the same orphanage, right?"

Samuel turned the steering wheel and replied calmly, "That's also what I heard about."

Hank, "You heard about?"

Samuel smiled carelessly and explained, "I was only five years old when I was adopted by my father. What could I remember since I was that little? If I hadn't always been reminded that I was adopted, I would have thought I was his biological son."

Hugh had always treated Samuel as his biological son.

Had it not been for the great differences in their appearances and characters, many people would have suspected that Samuel was Hugh's illegitimate son.

With that, Samuel turned to look at Hank, asking, "Why do you ask this all of a sudden?"

Hank's eyes remained closed. Instead of answering the question, he uttered, "Samuel, who do you think is better, me or Colin?"

Samuel thought to himself, "What a hell of a question! He's really giving me a hard time."

Without getting Samuel's reply for a long time, Hank muttered to himself, "Had it not for my mother, I really would not bother to fight against Colin."

Samuel joked, "You don't want to own Farrell Media?"

Hank was silent. After pondering, he said, "I did."

Samuel asked, "What? So you don't want it now?"

Hank replied, "Since I found something a month ago, Farrell Media has left me cool."

Samuel arched his eyebrows and said, "What have you found?"

Hank murmured, "Nothing."

Since Hank kept it to himself, Samuel did ask further. "What are you going to do with Nylah?" asked Samuel with a forced smile.

Hank opened his eyes, looking very tired, and stated, "You take some time to look for an apartment for her. When she and I finish the divorce process, you shall help her move." Samuel pretended to be surprised and asked, "Are you two getting divorced?"

Hank uttered, "Yup, we are too different in the first place."

Samuel teased, "She's done such a thing this time, but you intend to let her off the hook so easily?"

Hank stated, "I did something wrong first."

At the same time, Colin and Faye arrived at Alexander's company.

After getting off the car, Faye stared at the words "New Energy" outside the office building with a complicated look.

Alexander?

New energy?

What was comparing apples and bananas?

This was probably it.

Despite being suspicious, Faye still went in with Colin.

When they went upstairs, Alexander happened to have a meeting.

A senior executive was talking eloquently about his work, and Alexander looked at him with a fake smile.

When the senior executive was done, Alexander kept a straight face.

The senior executive asked, "Mr. Smith, what do you think of my plan?"

Alexander did not answer; he looked at the assistant standing next to him for help.

The assistant uttered on behalf of Alexander, "Not feasible. Redo it, and put it into practice."

The senior executive was wordless.

Alexander uttered, "Right. That's what I think."

Next, another senior executive reported on his work.

Faye had been listening to them at the door for almost half an hour and basically understood the whole story.

In fact, Alexander was a nominal president of the company, and new energy was all Greek to him.

Faye tilted her head to look at Colin and said, "Is this your company?"

Colin cracked a mischievous smile and answered, "To be more exact, this is your company. When Farrell Media goes bankrupt, you'll be the president, and I will work for you."
