Chapter 294 The Show Just Began

Today, the headquarters of Farrell Group was in turmoil.

Tiffany and Hank beat Colin and Faye to arrive there.

The door of the president's office was open. Blaine sat in a comfy chair with a livid face.

His office was crowded with people, and they were agitated.

"I have long suspected of Hugh, but you said I was overthinking with certainty."

"The loss caused by the bidding this time is not a small amount. Mr. Farrell, who do you think should be the one to blame for it?"

"Hugh made such a huge mistake, but he's only suspended. Mr. Farrell, it doesn't add up."

Pressured by those shareholders, Blaine was rendered wordless. He leaned into the seat as his chest moved up and down during his breathing.

In the corridor, Tiffany greeted Colin smilingly, "Colin, what are you doing here with Faye?"

Colin was unfazed and said, "I'm worried about my father."

Tiffany uttered, "Same to me and your eldest brother. We've been on tenterhooks since we got to know what's happened in the group."

Both of them had good acting. If they didn't know each other well, they would be unable to tell that they were here to join in the "fun".

Hank was grounded at home these days and didn't look very good.

In just a few days, he looked much thinner than before.

Tiffany then turned to look at Hank and stated, "You are used to keeping things to yourself. You're worried about your father and miss Colin, but you never say it out." With that, she heaved a sigh as if helplessly. What she said was actually directed at Colin.

Hank was silent, and he set his eyes on Colin. A few seconds later, he looked towards Faye.

Faye looked poised; she was sunk in thought, so she did not notice that Hank was looking at her.

Colin sniffed and naturally wrapped his arm around Faye's waist.

"Hmm?" Faye looked up in confusion.

Colin lowered his head and whispered into her ear, "Baby, I love you."

Faye did not expect that Colin would say that in public, and her ears reddened immediately.

Colin broke into a mischievous smile.

The next second, Colin looked up slightly and met Hank's eyes.

Hank froze and then looked away.

The quarrel in Blaine's office had lasted for more than an hour.

Blaine pretended to be calm and drank coffee. "So what do you guys want me to do with Hugh?" asked he with a darkened face.

"Fire him!"

"Besides, he has to be personally responsible for the loss."

"Mr. Farrell, if you really don't listen to our advice, then we'll have no choice but to ask Old Mr. Farrell to back us up."

Most of the shareholders were the trustworthy partners of Old Mr. Farrell back then.

They appeared loyal to the group, yet they were just taking advantage of their identity as veterans to inflict their thoughts on him.

Blaine took a sip of the coffee and said coldly, "Ask Hugh to come here."

A man in his thirties nodded and hurried out of the office.

Soon, the man showed up in the office with Hugh.

Hugh was in his early fifties, and the first impression people had of him was that he was stable.

Probably there was so much going on today that Hugh looked a little tired at the moment.

"Mr. Farrell."

Hugh walked up to Blaine and greeted him.

Kneading his temples, Blaine uttered, "Hugh, was it you who did that?"

Hugh answered, "No."

Blaine asked, "Do you have any proof?"

Hugh forced a smile and said, "No."

Hugh had been working with Blaine for nearly 30 years and knew Blaine too well. Since Blaine asked that, Blaine basically had given up on him.

Blaine fixed his eyes on Hugh with a frown. After about half a minute, he said calmly, "The shareholders proposed to let you resign and compensate for the loss caused by the bidding." Hugh was subdued.

Blaine let out a long sigh and said, "Forget the compensation. You can just go to the personnel department to complete the procedures to resign from your job."

Hugh took a deep breath and uttered, "Okay, Mr. Farrell."

Hugh did not explain anything to them the entire time.

Upon hearing what Blaine said, the other shareholders began to be critical and sarcastic again.

When Hugh walked out of Blaine's office, Tiffany pulled Hank to make way for him.

Hugh's back stiffened when he saw it.

Just as Hugh was ready to keep walking, Colin strode up to him, took out a business card from his pocket, and handed it to him, saying, "Hugh."

Hugh looked up at Colin and uttered, "Colin."

Colin stated, "This is my friend's new company. It's not a big company, but the salary is not bad. If you have no plans to retire, you might as well work there." Hugh was taken aback.

Colin didn't say anything more. He reached out to pat Hugh on his arm.

Hugh uttered, "Thank you, Colin."

Colin said with a smile, "I remember you used to attend the parent-teacher meetings in my school on behalf of my father in my childhood."

Hugh clenched the business card silently.

Shortly after Hugh left, the shareholders in Blaine's office also left one after another.

When all of them had left, Blaine clenched his teeth and smashed the coffee mug in his hand heavily to the ground.

The new assistant, who had just replaced Hugh, was frightened out of his wits and couldn't help holding his breath.

At the same time, Faye's and Hank's mobile phones rang; both of them got incoming text messages.

Hank took out his mobile phone.

Nylah: [Mr. Farrell, I'm sorry. I haven't touched a penny of Old Mr. Farrell's money. I don't want to get involved in your dispute. I'm just worried that I won't be able to get out of this. I wanna protect myself.] The text message that Faye received was from Lance.

Lance: [Nailed it.]
