It Gets Better

My dad looks so angry, "that filth is your mate!" he yells so loud it startles me. He rambles on and then asks "did you reject him?"

Griff comes to stand next to me and takes my hand, he obviously knows the answer to the question. I square my shoulders and try to feign confidence, "I... I accepted him." I failed but I don't regret accepting Tony, I'm just not excited at seeing my father this upset over my choice. I really hoped he could just accept it and be happy for me.

"Are you fucking stupid?" he asks stepping into my personal space.

"Dad, you need to take a step back and calm down." Griff squeezes me tighter to him.

Dad yells for Griff to stay out of it before turning back to me, "you dare bring shame on this family, Cadence... What do you have to say for yourself?"

"You don't get to speak to me like that, you brought shame on our family long before Tony became my mate". He glares at me but I don't care, "you left your children to fend for themselves because you were too fucked up to take care of them when mom died!"

"Don't you talk to me that way!" he yells again. I am so done. I storm up to him and poke him in the chest punctuating each word, "You don't get to judge me".

Griff grabs my purse from behind the counter, "come on Cade, let's get outta here." I try to tell him not to worry about it but he insists.

Dad yells at him "Griffin if you walk out that do-" Griff interrupts him, "You'll what, kick me out? Go for it". He wraps an arm around my shoulder and leads me to my truck.

On our way to the bar Griffin apologizes saying he didn't know that dad was coming in today. It's not his fault and honestly I'm glad everyone knows. I love Tony and I never want that to be a secret.

We arrive at the bar for a couple drinks and sadly Riley is working... I hate her sooooo much. I sit at the bar and she slowly makes her way over, "infused?" she asks with far to much attitude.

"Yes, thanks". She slams the bottle down and turns on the charm when Griffin sits down.

"Hey handsome, what will it be?" I roll my eyes and she touches his hand. I have trouble holding back my laughter when he pulls his hand away like she burned him, so much so that I do laugh and she glares, slams his bottle down and storms away.

It's probably not nice but I love watching her get rejected. Griffin turns to me, "she fucks half the men in here and one of those fools is my brother... Did she really think I'd get with her?"

"Oh didn't you know?" he quirks his left brow at me.

"Know what?" he asks.

I change my demeanour to be more like that of Riley, "I'm everyone's type".

"That was scary good." he says as he takes a drink.

"I know!"

"Please stop I'm begging you." we laugh and head to a table.

I tell Griff I have to use the ladies room, apparently I'm gone too long because when I walk out some tourist tramp has her hands on my brother. He's not into it. This is where the boys looking like dad and me looking like mom comes in handy.

"You could come back to my room," she bat's her fake lashes at him.

"I'm already here with someone." he scoots his chair a bit further away.

"If it's a friend you could bring them with you". Poor Griff looks so uncomfortable.

She's got like a death grip on his arm and I don't think he can get her off of him without hurting her. I lean on the door frame waiting for him to beg for my help. A couple of the other guys in place waiting for the fight to start.

"I don't really think she'd be ok with that." silly Griffin, that's not going to work.

She's very insistent, "why not? Threesomes can be fun". Griffin says he's sorry but he's a one woman at a time kind of man, she winks and says "don't worry, I won't tell". He's now pleading with me to save his ass.

I start walking over when the bar door opens. Leon walks in and they take a seat with one of the regulars to watch.

I walk over and clear my throat she looks up at me and sneers, "who are you?"

"I think the real question is who are you and why are you hanging all over my man".

She scoffs and smirks, "he could do better".

Leon chuckles, "oh boy, that was a mistake".

I lean over the table and grab her by the hair, "do you want to say that again, bitch?" She demands I let her go but I'm not done.

"You're going to get up from my table and get out of my bar". I let her go.

"Or what?" she snarks.

I raise a brow at her "I don't think you want to find out". She yells at me to let go and then calls me a psycho. It's then that André enters and asks what's happening as he sits with Leon and the regular.

The girl and I continue to converse while André gets the story from Leon. I ask if she's going to leave and she says no. I wonder who she goes after next. If I had to bet I'd pick Leon.

Griffin and I chuckle as she heads over and plops down in Leon's lap and starts twirling his beard in her grubby little fingers.

"I love you're beard". Leon laughs and thanks her, "would you and your hot friend here want to head back to my hotel room?" she winks and them.

This is so damn entertaining.

André says, "sorry we already have plans". Tourist tramp says they could bail and André says, "we can actually she's already here".

Leon stands, moving her off him and walks over to me hungs me and kisses my forehead.

"Seriously!" she yells.

"yeah" André says as he heads over to me. He plants a searing hot sensual kiss on my lips. He's got one hand buried in my hair and the other on my hip and pulls me closer to him.

"Oh, wow".

André leans in and whispers in my ear, "I've wanted to kiss you like that for so long. I have no words so I just nod at him.

Tourist tramp is annoyed and stroms back over to Griffin," I thought you were a one woman man?"

He smiles "I did, however, I never said she was a one man woman." and now it's my turn to sneer.

"Now it's time for you to get out of tm bar". She tries to act tough saying she's not afraid of me. André tells her she really should leave before ei throw her out before I throw her out.

"This town sucks! You all suck!"

"Oh no you guys, we all suck!" Everyone laughs. She's still stand there so I walk up to her wrap my hand around her throat and lead her to the door. She tries to claw at my hand but I'm so much stronger than her.

"Stay away from my men and stay out of my bar". I gently toss her through the door. When I get back to my table André comments he's sad it wasn't an actual fight since he hasn't seen me brawl yet. I assure him there is still time.

André pats his lap so I happily wrap my arms around his neck and sit down. Leon calls for more drinks and we spend a couple of hours drinking and laughing before André takes me home.

When we walk in the door I ask André "are you going to stay with me?"

"Is that what you want?" he asks in return.

I nod, kiss him and lead him to the bedroom. Pushing him down on the bed I climb on him.

"Baby, as much as I want you right now I'd rather you be completely sober the first time we're together".

"You're so good, André".

He kisses me before he helps me off of him. He helps me change and we get into bed and cuddle until sleep takes us.
