Tony called and said he wouldn't be able to come home. His boss told him if he wanted the two weeks off every few months he'd have to start making up those days.

I'm furious, naturally, Tony already gets so little time with Gabriel and its not good for either of them to have Tony seem like ghost.

"Cadence, Griffin and I think you need to spend some time with Tony so we want you to go be with him and we'll stay here and watch our little buddy Gabriel".

"I should take Gabriel if I go. He needs to see his father".

"Normally I'd agree with you but Gabriel will be fine if he misses one weekend with his dad." Griff cuts in.

Maybe they are right. I miss Tony and Gabriel seems content to stay with his Uncle's.

I pack a bag and put it in Leon's truck. He's lending it to me so I can go without bothering the Luna with a request.

I hug Leon and Gabriel then turn and hug Griffin he whispers, "we'll see you on Monday when you get back. Drive safe".

"Thanks guys, I love you".

The drive feels like it lasts an eternity but eventually I make it to the hotel, The Hyacinth, Tony is staying at.

I ask for his room number at the front desk... The guy gives me an odd look but I try to ignore it.

I take the elevator to the third floor, when the doors open I almost walk right into a girl that wants to get on.

"Sorry" I apologize.

She smiles and moves to the side before I exit and she gets on.

I make my way to room 310 and notice the scent of the girl from the elevator stops here.

I knock on the door and Tony yells asking if I forgot something then opens the door.

He smiles brightly pulling me into a hug.

"Baby, what are you doing here?"

"Tony, who's that girl?"

"That was my coworker Andie, she had some stuff for Gabriel so she dropped it off for me." he explains.

"Why did you ask if she forgot something?"

"Because she literally leaves her phone everywhere".

He picks up a white phone off of a box.

"See".

I walk over to the bed and sit. Her scent stops just inside the door so at least I know he isn't lying... about today at least.

A few minutes later there's a knock at the door. He answers and hands her the phone. She thanks him and leaves. Nothing about their interaction seems off so maybe I'm over thinking this.

"Where is Gabriel?"

"Oh, he's with Griff and Leon".

"Cadence I'm so fucking glad you're here. I've missed you so damn much".

"You aren't cheating on me with her are you?"

He looks hurt by my question but he doesn't try to get out of this conversation which I deeply appreciate.

"I could never cheat on you. You're my best friend and the love of my life. You're also the amazing woman that gave me my amazing little boy".

He sounds sincere and really I want to believe him but he's gone a lot so it's not that big of a stretch for him to seek comfort in another woman. Especially one as beautiful as her.

He comes to sit beside me. He pulls me into his side, his right arm around my shoulders and my left hand in his left.

"I love you and Gabriel more than anything on this earth".

He kisses my temple and inhales my scent.

"I know you just got here but I'm exhausted. Why don't you come shower with me and then come to bed?"

"Alright".

Tony washes my hair and body and I was his. I love feeling this close to him. I just wish this nagging feeling that he's lying to me would go away.

When we finish we get out and Tony takes cares to dry every inch of my skin so I can put on some lotion like I do most nights.

Laying in bed with him, watching his chest rise and fall is everything I miss while he's away. He looks so peaceful like all the weight he carries has dissolved and he's just my Antonio again.

His phone chimes, who would be messaging him this late? I don't even message him this late.

I pick up his phone and it's not locked. I guess he feels he has nothing to hide. It's a message from that girl Andie.

hanks for buying that stuff. I can't believe Stewart fired me.

Why is that the only message? Does he delete his history? I go through the rest of the messages. All of them are pretty sparse. Except mine and his.

"What are you hiding?"

I put his phone back and roll over so my back is to him. I shouldn't have come here.

I toss and turn for hour but fall asleep at some point because I wake to Tony kissing be goodbye.

I turn and he says, "I love you. Tonight I want to take you out for a romantic dinner".

"I love you, too. Have a good day".

He leaves and I struggle with my thoughts. What on earth could he be hiding from me? I want to believe he's being faithful especially after all we've been through but what if I'm just not enough? He's hardly around because of work and it did take us so long to complete our bond.

A couple of hours after he's left there's a knock at the door. I find that weird since I know nobody knows I'm here.

I check the peek hole and see Andie. I open the door, "can I help you?" I ask in an annoyed tone.

"Cadence, it's nice to finally meet you. Tony never stops talking about you and you're more beautiful than he said".

I am so confused.

"Um... Thanks?"

"You are so lucky, Tony is the sweetest guy." she says as she enters the room.

"I think I saw you coming from the elevator as I was leaving last night. Stewart, Tony's boss my former, fired me because I'm pregnant. I don't even do heavy lifting! I was his interior designer. He's swine, he was always hitting on me, grabbing my ass. Anyway my son Trevor turned four a few weeks ago and we were cleaning out his room getting rid of things he doesn't need anymore and Tony offered to buy some of it to try and help me out. You really have a special man".

Does this woman ever stop to breathe?

"I'm sorry to hear that, but congratulations your pregnancy".

"Thank you. Now Tony also knows I'm obsessed with sewing as I make my own clothes, " she does like a sweeping hand motion, "So he requested I stop by and bring a few of my original dresses for you to try on because he wants to take you out for a fancy dinner. You should have heard how happy he was that you're here. I've never heard him sound so happy".

Wow this girl is overwhelming.

I'll be right back. I just need to grab the rest of the stuff.

She comes back and then ushers me down to the spa. While I'm there she's setting things up or so she said.

After an hour of pampering I'm sent to hair and makeup.... How much is Tony spending on this?

When I finally get back to my room she's got a few gowns set up on display.

"Wow".

"They are beautiful. I usually make gowns for graduation or prom but one of these isn't appropriate for that but you'd look amazing in it".

"That may be true but it's a bit more revealing than I'm comfortable with. It is beautiful though".

After I try them all on I end up going with the least revealing black one. I was going to go with the blue but I thought it looked weird with the bright red lipstick the make-up artist put on me.

"Wow, you look stunning." Andie says beaming.

"Thanks.... May I ask how much Tony spent on all this".

"You can but I honestly don't know how much it all cost. I tried to give the dress as a gift but there was a money transfer made to me this morning for the full amount plus a pretty hefty tip".

This leaves me with so many questions.

"Alright, be sure you're ready to go in about half an hour, have a great night. Bye".

She leaves me alone in the room to wait. I'm ready to leave now. I'm confused and a little annoyed at Tony for not telling me what's happening but I don't want to think about it so I video chat with Gabriel and my brothers until I get a call from the front desk.

When I get to the doors I see Tony in a tuxedo waiting beside a limousine talking to the driver.

"Wow, you look incredible." he pulls me close and plants a sweet kiss on my lips before he helps me into the back of the car.

"Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise".
