Chapter 7

Lee Otto Fraser’s Pov:

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE’S GONE!?” My voice reverberated through the whole sitting room. The walls resounding back my question. My teeth were gritted, unable to understand or make sense of what I just heard. They all kept quiet at my question. I mean I found it hard to grasp that there were many of them and a single little woman disappeared without them noticing.

I ogled at them. From the securities, maids, the doorman down to the female butler. They remained silent. “You mean to tell me none of you saw her leaving or what? How can a tiny woman sl*p under your noses?”

“We are sorry,” the door man apologized, a burly looking man with bald hair complimenting his aging wrinkled skin. “We are really sorry, I’m at fault here. I should have been at the door every minute and now….”

“You weren’t guarding the door?” I puckered my brow. A frown appeared on my face, watching the sorry looks across their faces. A hunch was rising in me, an inkling was rising on my sleeves but I didn’t want to believe it. I didn’t want to accept that she deliberately did the one thing I commanded her not even after listing out all those rules to her. One thing I had the most is people going against me or my words. I hate disobedience…..

“I’m sorry,” said Mr Smith, the door man, harboring an apologetic look across his face. “I left the door when I got a call from home, saying my daughter suddenly collapsed. I had to rush over to take her to hospital…..”

“And you left your work because of that? Isn’t your wife there to take her to the hospital!”

I saw him flinch a bit. A bit puzzled.

Right now, I don’t care about the tone of my voice. I was so enraged they were all here when she left the house. She’s my property and I dislike when my property isn’t looked after so well.

“I’m sorry, Sir.”

“She walked into the kitchen and requested to help me out but I refused her, she left. I didn’t know when she left the house,” the female butler asserted. Lifting up her gaze to meet mine.

“And? None of you cared to search for her? I still don’t get it, honestly.” I cursed under my breath, ruffling my fingers through my hair. I didn’t get why I was getting so paranoid like this but for some reason I was very restless. Never felt like this toward my first to third wife. I mean they tried stuff to get on my nerves but I never paid attention to them. My first wife was very unhappy when her father gave

her to me. The repulsive look she threw me proved to me she didn’t want to get through with it.

“Father, I told you I’ve zero intention of marrying this man, I’m already in love with someone else,” she grunted, glaring at me. It wasn’t as if I actually wanted to go through with my first marriage but to get her father to buy shares from my company, I had to.

Chapter 7

“Will only be doing as you asked if you do as I asked.” The old man I was seated across smiled. His eyes shimmered. To strengthen our bond being business associates. I’d like us to be family……your father was a very good friend of mine and we already made an alliance to mate our children.”

And that was how I married my first wife who had nothing for me but plain anger.

“I don’t know what business you did with my father but I tell you, it won’t work. As I said earlier, I already have someone I’m in love with and he has chosen me as his luna.” A smile graced her face when she approached me as I was about to enter my car after exiting her father’s house.

“You sure about that?” I queried, watching the confident look in her eyes change quickly to curiosity. I’d tell she was also startled by my question. “You sure, he will choose you?”

She arched her brow. Confused and puzzled. “You have no right whatsoever to ask me that. I know him very well.”

Technically, you can’t know someone fully.” I said. “So I’d suggest you listen to your father and get married to me. Also……” I drew closer to her. Whispering.

“Whenever I set my eyes on something and it spiked my interest, I would go to the ends of the world to get it so save yourself the trouble of playing hard to get.”

“Ha!” She let out a snort and when I leaned out. I saw a mixture of fear in her eyes. “Playing hard to get? You are wrong. I ain’t marrying you.”

But one picture I couldn’t get out of my head and still haunt me till today was the look on her face. when I returned one certain day. She threw me a quite strange look I couldn’t comprehend, like she had seen the worst being on earth. Like I was a feral.,

The next day, her father visited with me with a furious look after her daughter called off the marriage. “What did you do to my daughter!” He thundered and grabbed her collar.

Till now, I’m yet to figure out why father and daughter suddenly turned against me.

“We are terribly sorry, Sir.” My mind was pulled back to the present. Aurora was quite strange to me, never did she complain at my rules but she pulled this stunt? Was she perfectly timing it? Was it her plan all along to make a run? She didn’t counter like my first wife did, neither did she seduce me into marrying her like my second wife.

Are her clothes still around?”

“Her clothes aren’t there,” one of the maids prompted.

“Did you search around?”

She nodded while fidgeting from her pose. She was fiddling her fingers in a nervous manner, avoiding my gaze.

She’s p

but why. It wasn’t even up to two days in our marriage.

Chapter 7

“Sir, what are we to do?” The female butler inquired.

Aurora’s Pov:

I stole a glance at the man beside me. Walking at the same pace as me. For some reason, his presence comforted me and I need not feel afraid. It was already dark when I left the mall after witnessing the stunt he pulled in there and the enraged look across Maya’s face though she tried to conceal it. She was intentional in mocking and humiliating me. Most times I wonder why she despised me. I should be the one feeling envious and repulsive toward her for taking everything that ever belonged to me but it was the reverse.

My mind drifted back to her linked hand with Jaden. Everything that was mine was stripped from me and was given to her. I watched my world crumble because of one thing. I couldn’t shift. I narrowed my eyes up to the crescent moon in the sky, almost being swallowed up by the clouds. For the first time, I regretted my existence while having the question within me “why me?” I had no abilities. None was activated. I was nothing but an empty vessel.

At every full moon, I watched the others shift to their wolves and go hunting and all I could do was stare. I had always pondered, if I had my wolf, my father wouldn’t have to look down on me or see me as a mistake. My life might be different and I wouldn’t have to be sold off to Lee Otto Fraser in the name of marriage.

I would have been the one marrying Jaden. I blinked back the tears in my eyes, feeling a lump- building in my throat. Jaden, I had desperately loved him not until Maya came into the picture.

“Someone like you doesn’t deserve him.” She grimaced, throwing daggers at me with her eyes. “You don’t deserve anyone. Jaden is better off with a Luna who is strong and assertive and who is worthy of being his mate, not some weakling who is such a slap to her clan.”

She put it in such a way that made it look like it was entirely my fault. Like I also wanted this.

She glared at me with hate. Causing me to ponder if that was one of the reasons she hated me.

“You are oddly quiet,” the man’s calm voice beside me cut through the silent night. I immediately. sniffed back the tears, blinking my eyes. Trying not to make it obvious I was sobbing.

“Are you alright?” He glanced at me. I blinked my eyes and I nodded, faking a smile. “Your face doesn’t look good.”

“I’m fine and thank you for today.” The corners of l*ps quivered. Praying he wouldn’t go further to ask me what’s wrong. Frankly speaking, It stunned me why a stranger from nowhere would help me. He offered help with the revolving doors and when Maya was trying to humiliate me.

“Just $1300, you can’t afford this when you’re married to the richest man in town.” Her mocking voice returned and II felt my b*dy shudder at the tone of her voice. Marrying the richest man who I have no feelings for and who set those rules for me to follow. Who’d give out such rules to their wife? First nights for married couples were sacred and magical, the night, mates became one and

And he gave me my own room. My marriage to him was contractual, nothing more.

“It was nothing.” The man beside me smiled. His smile seemed to ease the pain I was feeling a little. “I figured out from your stance, you were screaming for help. By the way, who was she? The one bullying you earlier?”

I didn’t know if I should answer that question or not. After a minute of contemplation, I finally answered. “My sister.”

“Wow….your sister?”

Lost in my self pity world, I lost track of time and also I lost my way. I felt panic starting to kick in as to what Fraser would do when he realized I was gone. I never told any of his workers I was going out because I felt it was irrelevant and also the

all seemed busy.

I turned around, searching my vicinity with my eyes to make out where I was. I’m completely lost and instead of panicking, I should calm down and figure the roads out.

What if Fraser was already back home?

“Thank you for today and sorry, I away from him.

n’t take this.” I gave him back the phone he purchased and spun

“Where are you going?” He asked after me.

“Home.” I replied and hurried on my heels to find my way home.

“I can drop you off,” he offered.

“Thanks but I’m fine.” Without waiting for him to insert a word, I trudged downtown ro find my way back. Heart thumping harsh against my ribs. I came out to a bus station, the street lights. illuminating the whole place.

Suddenly a car light flashed in my direction, blinding me. I had to raise my hand over my face to shield my face from the lights. The lights dimmed as the car stopped beside me and who came out of it sent my pulse racing.

He stood before me with his intimidating height. A furious look was plastered on his face as he stared at me for some minutes. To his satisfaction.

I parted my l*ps to apologize and state my reason for leaving when he shut me up with his question.

“Didn’t I forbid you never to step foot out of my

house?”
