I looked at my stepmom, Emaline, and my stepsister, Jade, raising my eyebrow to find the reason behind this sudden dinner meeting that my father, Alpha Warren Lopez of Embermoon Pack, had called.

‘I don’t know, Bri,‘ Jade’s mind linked, and I saw Mom

shrugging her shoulder as well. So, it looked like only Dad

knew why we were called here.

“Honey, what’s the matter?” Mom asked softly.

I pressed my l*ps tightly together when he not only dodged Mom’s question but also rudely responded to her. My fist tightened around the fork.

“Don’t talk to Mom like that,” I

said, glaring at him.

“Bri, it’s between us,” Mom said, trying to calm my anger. Even though she was my stepmother, I loved her no less than my own mother, who died fourteen years ago.

I hissed in anger but couldn’t go against his command. I angrily had my dinner thinking about my boyfriend, Jameson Bowman, who had been my boyfriend for the last two years. I wanted to tell Dad about him, but what was the use of that?
