Chapter 9 

Nadia looked at him with her mouth wide opened. “I…I just thought that you…the both of us…” Nadia wanted to say something but her brain could not even complete a single sentence. 

She has known Axiel for a long time now and the both of them are more like…fuck buddies. She thought that she at least meant something to him. 

At least deep in her heart she knows that she is in love with Axiel. Since he never resisted any of her advances, she thought that he was in love with her too. 

Axiel smirked at Nadia. “You thought that I felt something for you? Seriously now you can’t be all that naive right? We are just having fun with each other. We enjoy having a good time. You can’t expect anything more from me” Axiel said. 

Nadia widened her eyes as she looked at the man in front of her. 

“What…what are you saying?” Nadia asked. 

“You should already know that I have a mate now right? Stop thinking of the impossible. It will never happen between the both of us” Axiel said. 

“Yes, I know that you have a mate. Jenna right? She’s the sister of the alpha twins right? I thought that she doesn’t like you. 

Will she even accept the mating? Jenna is such an arrogant wolf. Because her brothers are the alphas, she thinks that she can do whatever she wants with everyone” Nadia said. She could not resist the urge to talk bad about Jenna. 

She thought that she will be the one to become Axiel’s mate since the both of them have known each other for a long time but he just turned and told her that he has another mate. 

Deep down, she hated Jenna. 

Axiel snorted. There’s no need to talk bad about her. I’m not going to leave her for you. And who said that she didn’t accept me as her mate?” Axiel asked angrily. 

Whenever he remembered how Jenna ignored him, he just wanted to hit someone and vent out his anger. 

He can have any woman that he wants. Why does Jenna think that she’s so different? 

All he needs to do is find out what she likes and she will be playing into his hands any time soon. 

Nadia smirked. She had realized that mentioning Jenna made Axiel angry. “Is that so? But I was talking to one of the werewolves from their pack and she told me that everyone knows that Jenna doesn’t like her mate. She even said that there are rumors that Jenna wants to break off the mating. She wants to reject you as her mate” Nadia said. 

Of course she didn’t hear this from anyone. She just wanted to make Axiel mad. Who knows? He might get really angry that Jenna is rejecting him and he might end up rejecting her instead, just to save his pride as the alpha. 

Axiel frowned for a bit. But then he saw the smug look on Nadia’s face. He instantly realized what she was trying to do. He tutted and moved closer to her. 

Nadia was still lying on the bed with only a blanket covering her nakedness. 

Axiel reached out his hand to stroke her face. He stroked it for a few seconds but then suddenly his hand went down and he grabbed her neck. 

Nadia wasn’t expecting this at all. Her eyes widened in fear.

Is Axiel going to kill her? 

Axiel had a wicked smile on his face as he choked Nadia. 

Nadia tapped on his hand and tried to get him to let go of her but he pretended not to notice her gestures. 

“Oh Nadia….do you think that I can’t see through you? That I don’t know what you’re doing?” Axiel asked calmly. Even though he looked calm, there was an underlying coldness in his voice that made people shudder with fear. 

“I…..I…” Nadia opened her mouth and tried to say something but she found out that she couldn’t make words. 

Axiel tutted again and then let go of her neck. 

“Nadia, don’t try to play any tricks with me. Talking bad about Jenna won’t make me reject her as my mate in fact, it just makes me want her all the more. She doesn’t like me? I don’t believe there’s a female werewolf who won’t fall in love with me! I just have to find out what exactly she likes and she’ll come running to me in seconds!” Axiel said. He was very confident that he could get Jenna to fall for him. 

Nadia looked at the man in front of her with fear evident in her eyes. She wanted to say something sarcastic to him but then she remembered the feeling of being choked just now and she wisely decided to keep her mouth shut. 

“You are just a past time for me. You offered your body up. Do you really think that I will pretend not to like it? No way! You and I both enjoyed sleeping with each other, don’t expect anything from me” Axiel said coldly. 

Nadia used to be a nice woman who knows her place and who won’t ask for anything after the both of them have slept together. 

But Axiel had noticed that the past few days, she was getting ambitious. She wants to be his Luna! 

Nadia took a deep breath. She wanted to confess her feelings to Axiel. She felt like she won’t have the chance to do it after today. 

“Axiel I….I really like you. I really do like you. Jenna doesn’t even like you. You should have a luna who really loves you. Not one who wants to stay away from you. I’m sure that I can be a better Luna than Jenna will ever be. 

Why don’t you just pick me?” Nadia asked. She wasn’t above begging Axiel at this point. That was how desperate she was. She just loved Axiel too much. 

Axiel looked at Nadia intently for a full minute. Then he burst out laughing. 

“You are in love with me? Do you think that you are worthy? You know Nadia, you used to be good. You were smart and know your place. You won’t ask for things that won’t belong to you at any time. You are not fit to be my Luna” Axiel said. 

Nadia felt her heart shatter into several pieces when she heard that. “Why? Why am I not fit to be your Luna? I am in love with you! Jenna isn’t! How can she be better than me? I can love you more than she ever will!” Nadia said. 

Axiel rubbed his temples in frustration. He did not want to continue to have this conversation. 

“You know what? I think that the both of us should not see each other anymore. I won’t look for you from now on. Don’t look for me. And if you know what’s good for you, you better not tell anyone else that the both of us have slept together before” Axiel said. 

If he doesn’t let Nadia go now, she will keep thinking that she has a chance with him. It’s better to cut her off now and crush all of her hopes rather than keep her around and have her keep dreaming of being his mate when it will never happen. 

“What….what do you mean Axiel? You don’t want to see me again? Is it because of what I said? You don’t need to feel pressured because of all of that! Don’t worry! I won’t mention being in love with you or wanting to be your Luna from now on. But please don’t do this!” Nadia begged. 

She believes that as long as she continues to sleep with Axiel, she will be able to convince him of the love that she has for him. 

But if she can’t even see him, how is she supposed to convince him that she is the right wolf to be his Luna? 

Axiel shook his head. He didn’t want any more trouble. “No. I won’t be looking for you anymore so don’t look for me. Whatever we had between us, it’s over. If you want some kind of compensation, like money perhaps, then you should tell me. I don’t need anything that will keep connecting me to you” Axiel said. 

The look on Nadia’s face was extremely ugly. She felt that Axiel was insulting her by offering to give her money. 

“Axiel, what exactly do you take me for? Like you said, I slept with you because I enjoyed it. There’s no need to insult me by offering to give me money. I don’t want it. “Nadia said. 

Axiel couldn’t care less. He shrugged. “It’s fine by me if you don’t want it. Just don’t come looking for me again” Axiel said and turned to leave. 

Nadia watched as the man walked out of her house. Her heart was breaking into a thousand pieces. 

She thought that she could get Axiel to fall in love with her and reject Jenna as his mate ..but he doesn’t even want to see her again! 

Nadia screamed out in frustration. However, she had no intentions of giving up so soon though. 

She will get Axiel. She will make him reject Jenna as his mate and then make her his Luna. 

There was a determined look on her face. 

Kayla was sitting at her lunch table with her friends. All of them were having fun talking and laughing but she was far removed from the conversation. 

All she could think about was Miles and Michael’s decision to break up with her and reject her as their mate. 

Her father had told her that she should try and get them to take back their decision but how is she supposed to do that when they won’t even look at her? 

She knows that if she goes to their house now, Jenna définitely won’t let her in. That’s how much Jenna hates her anyway.
