Love at the Wrong Table by Emmanuel Lowe
Love at the Wrong Table Emmanuel Lowe Chapter 445

Chapter 445

The man quickly stammered an explanation, “Ms. Quillen, it was your… your

grandpa who sent me. He wanted me to observe and confirm if you and Mr.

Lowe couldn’t resist each other and… well, you know, get intimate last night.”

The situation was becoming increasingly awkward.

Emmanuel couldn’t help but look at Mackenzie, realizing that her grandpa’s

desire for great-grandchildren was more fervent than he had anticipated.

Mackenzie grew even more frustrated and snapped, “Run back where you

came from and tell Grandpa that if he ever dares to pull a stunt like this

again, I will definitely divorce Emmanuel!” Emmanuel thought to himself, Why

is this my problem? I’m innocent!

The man nodded in agreement but continued to stare at Mackenzie as she

entered the car, trying to determine from her walking style whether she was

still a virgin. Alas, no matter how he observed, her walking appeared normal

and not indicative of any discomfort.

As Terence woke up in the morning at the Quillen residence, Alfred handed

2/5

him a mouthwash and whispered, “Mr. Quillen, it seems that Ms. Quillen is still

a virgin. She walks normally, and it appears that Emmanuel didn’t take

advantage of the situation last night!”

Terence let out a deep sigh. “Is that guy even a real man? I might have to

consider replacing him judging from the situation. It’s been over two months,

and is it really that difficult for him to handle a woman?”

Alfred quickly smiled and said, “Ms. Quillen is not just any ordinary woman. Please be patient a little longer!”

“Patience can be maddening. I don’t know how much longer my old bones

can hold on!” Terence expressed his growing anxiety. “I understand that

Mackenzie is no ordinary woman, but do you think Emmanuel is an ordinary

man?”

Alfred was taken aback by the question and responded swiftly, “That guy is definitely extraordinary. I had a professional tailing Mackenzie, but Emmanuel immediately noticed and confronted him. Emmanuel’s skills are on par with those of a martial arts grandmaster!”

Terence chuckled upon hearing that. “That’s precisely why I insisted on

having Mackenzie marry him. I can have peace of mind knowing he’s there to

protect her!”

“I see.” Alfred nodded, indicating his understanding of Terence’s intentions.

“I can’t even uncover Emmanuel’s background! All I know is that he served in

the military for eight years before retiring. My bet is he’s the Northern Wolf!”

Terence shared his thoughts openly. Alfred had served Terence for over 30

years and was a trusted confidant who could be relied upon with any

information.

Alfred inhaled sharply upon hearing the revelation. “No wonder Emmanuel’s

skills are so exceptional. If that’s the case, he is truly deserving of Ms. Quillen.

Having him join the family will significantly boost our strength!”

“Indeed.” Terence nodded. Then, he instructed Alfred, “Since Mackenzie and

Emmanuel’s relationship has entered a stable period, it’s time to let him

assist Mackenzie.”

Alfred nodded at Terence’s order. The Quillen family controlled a variety of

industries, so even though Mackenzie had outstanding abilities, she still

needed a man to support her.

On the other hand, after dropping Mackenzie off at work, Emmanuel returned

to the hospital and ran into Darren. Darren wore an expression of disbelief as

he coldly approached and asked, “Why are you still here in our hospital?”

Emmanuel understood the implication behind Darren’s words and furrowed

his brow slightly. Had he been fired during the time he hadn’t been at the

hospital for nearly half a month?

“What brings you here?” At that moment, Frederick approached the two. He

wore a complex expression as he walked up to Emmanuel and said excitedly,

“They said you left Yeringham and would never return! But I don’t believe it.

You’re not the type to be a coward!”

Emmanuel was taken aback. He wondered who had spread rumors about

him while he was away. He had never stated that he would never return to

Yeringham!

“Now that you’re back, you should go and speak to Mr. Leonhart to reclaim

your position!” Frederick quickly reminded Emmanuel. Unfortunately, Darren

chimed in with a disparaging sneer, “Don’t bother. Beacon Hospital can no

longer accommodate you. You’ll only end up humiliating yourself if you go

looking for Mr. Leonhart.”
