Chapter 96 Acknowledging Each Other
"It's not that bad. It was heartbreaking when I found out everything was fake," Maggie said with a smile. She was feeling happy, too.
In her previous life, she never had the opportunity to converse with Ericko.
After assisting the Camerons to eradicate the Adams, her parents passed away one after the other. Ericko treated her like an enemy, seeking revenge relentlessly.
If it weren't for Nathael protecting her in the midst of it all, she probably would have died several times.
Later on, perhaps upon learning about her background, Ericko ceased his revenge towards her. He had just observed her from a distance on a few occasions.

As she gazed at the man before her, Maggie suddenly felt like drinking with him. "Do you like to eat pizza?"
Ericko was momentarily taken aback. He hadn't expected such a casual question.

He took her to a pizza place she had never heard of. He led her to a secluded location in a winding alley.
Before entering the alley, Maggie could smell the enticing aroma of pizza crust.
"Their pizza tasted very authentic. Although there are a lot of customers, it's not overly noisy. Reservations are often necessary. Fortunately, I have a good rapport with the owner. I can eat here without any hassle." Ericko introduced the place to Maggie.
Before long, they were escorted to the second floor. The tables upstairs were spaced out. The entire loft was semi-open, offering a beautiful view outside.
Despite having many customers, it was quiet due to the vast distance between each table.
The interior design was quite vintage, with some intricate details.
The place was also decorated with vintage and modern ornaments. Maggie could tell that it was to appeal to the general public.
Maggie was hungry the moment she smelled the aroma of freshly cooked pizza.
The craft beer here is exceptional," Ericko said while handing the menu to Maggie.
They talked and ate for over an hour.
The pizza place was definitely a better place than a fine-dining restaurant. They could talk about everything here and get familiar with each other.
Maggie ate heartily, and she was contented.

Her delicate face was flushed with a rosy hue as she eagerly reached for another glass of crafted beer recommended by Ericko. She looked like a contented cat in his eyes.
Ericko had his sleeves rolled up, and his shirt collar loosened. He ate a lot, too.
He kept serving food on Maggie's plate.
Maggie smiled at his actions..
It's nice to have a brother
She could never feel the same way with the Camerons as they were deceitful.
"I never stopped searching for you all these years," Ericko spoke softly. He was afraid that Maggie would misunderstand him.
"I believe you." Maggie chuckled lightly, feeling tipsy.
Throughout the meal, they engaged in heartfelt conversations.

Ericko told her that she had been kidnapped because of him. The kidnappers had intended to kidnap him. It was just a twist of fate that he didn't leave the house that day, and she ended up in that car. And so, their destinies were changed.
Maggie also inquired about her parents' health, and Ericko reassured her that they were currently stable. Although her mother had never been in good health, she had been taking care of herself for years, and she would be fine as long as she didn't face any significant shocks.

The old lady stood up for Vanessa to make up for what she had owed Maggie for all the years.
"Grandma often gets confused, so she rarely attends banquets in recent years. Her condition has improved a lot lately by pretending that Vanessa is you. The family couldn't tell her the truth. They were afraid that she couldn't handle it." Maggie expressed understanding of the situation, holding no resentment towards Madam Adam.
Even though Madam Adam stood up for Vanessa that day, she was being fair and honest. She was willing to admit defeat when she realized that she was wrong.
Then, they talked about the Camerons. Ericko kept quiet at the mention of their names.
He thought the Camerons treated Maggie well. He had the same thoughts as others, thinking Maggie was lucky.
But the Adams and the Camerons had been at odds for many years, and he knew the true nature of the Camerons. Further investigation revealed that everything was just a facade!
"When are you coming home, Maggie?" Ericko spoke in a deep voice.
Maggie pondered momentarily and said slowly, "I want to stay at the Camerons."
She didn't know how to explain to Ericko because, in this lifetime, the Camerons had not yet caused her too much harm.
She would not rest until she destroyed the Camerons.
Ericko was silent for a few seconds before saying, "I know you hate them. They knew about your
background but kept it hidden for so many years. They even make you go against the Adams. If you hadn't seen through it, I'm afraid neither you nor the Adams would have a good ending
