King Him, Not Me
Chapter 11

“Well,” Jean puts her hands on her hips, “your not king, but you’re close to it.”

Winston grins as he walks out the room, wearing expensive clothing. The white pants hug him in all the right places, the boots with a bit of a heel to them and gold accents on the shoes and top. His vest is red with golden designs and the shirt underneath is white and baggy. Pinned on the pocket of his vest is the seal of Galedon’s royal adviser.

“Don’t I look sexy?” Winston muses as he walks towards his aunt, she rolling her eyes and playfully pushing him away. It’s then his eyes catch the sight of five familiar faces, Jean smiling softly. Jean, “You remember them, don’t you?”

“How could I forget them,” Winston answers before he walks towards the group.

“Winston,” the four say, waiting for him to respond. The shorter slowly shakes his head, “Cal, Mal, Hesta, and Douglas.” his voice wobbles as he hugs his other siblings, they happily hugging back. They hold each other close before the olders move to the side to reveal their mother, she already in tears.

“Look at you,” Petra says as she approaches her youngest child, “all grown up and handsome.”

Winston whimpers before hugging his mother, she hugging back as his siblings join them. This was similar to the last hug Winston got from his family, the only person missing was Cornelius.

“Alright.” Jean sighs as she wipes her tears, “I hate to do this to you, but it’s time for Winston to go. He has a coronation to attend.”

“She’s right.” Petra sniffs as everyone moves apart. One by one, the five kiss Winston on his forehead or his cheek. He grimaces, “I’m not four anymore!” he whines before hurrying off, “I’ll come and visit you all at our grandparent’s manor, one day! I promise!”

“He’s right.” Cal sighs sadly as he watches his younger brother run off, “He’s not four anymore.”

What the five see is a four-year-old boy who’s barely able to run. Now they see a nineteen-year-old young man who rounds the corner and disappears from their sight.

Trumpets play the king’s theme as Barin walks out of the hall, Winston close behind him. Barin’s wearing the kingdoms new colors, red and black, in a long robe that maids carry the ends of. In his hand is the king of Galedon’s long sword and a golden cross around his neck. Odis combed all his youngest brother’s hair back into one ponytail and tied it off with their deceased little sister’s ribbon.

“You ready,” Winston asks as he grins, Barin smirking.

“I was born ready,” he says as he walks forward, the entire kingdom cheering once they see him. Everyone’s here, from small village farmers to large city nobles. The rulers from the allied kingdoms are also here, clapping as they watch Barin walk towards the alter. Everyone’s at the center of the capital where the remains of an old chapel used to be, nothing but the alter remaining. On it is the king’s crown, it made of pure gold with white diamonds.

Morgan’s standing in front of the alter, Madris and Jeffery on one side while Canvas is on the other. Winston moves to join Canvas once Barin stands in front of the taller human. They’re all dressed in their best attire.

“Are you ready,” Morgan asks the younger. Barin nods, “King me,” he looks at Winston then back at the council leader, “not him.”

Morgan nods with a soft laugh then takes the sword from the shorter, swinging it around a bit before tapping the tip against the alter in the middle of the crown. The cracks glow red as the tip moves away, Morgan putting the sword down as he picks the crown up. The alter wouldn’t allow him to lift the crown if he didn’t do all of that, Cornelius cursed it that way before he was locked below the castle.

“By the name of the kingdoms, by the name of all that his holy. I hereby crown thee king,” he says as he places the crown on Barin’s head, the capital exploding with cheering. Barin grins with his mouth closed then turns to Winston, blushing softly when he sees that the shorter’s clapping and softly cheering for him.

“Bella,” Barin says as he takes the ribbon out his hair, his long blonde curls falling loosely down his back and over his shoulders.

“I’ve done it,” he says as he places the ribbon in front of a tombstone, “I’m king.”

“You look good with your hair down.” Jeffery muses as he flies towards the new king, Winston with him. Barin flicks his hair out his face, “It’s going to get in the way more often, but I don’t plan on cutting it.”

The fairy sighs as he rolls his eyes, looking at Winston with a soft smirk before he flies off.

“So,” the shorter chimes as he moves closer to Barin, “this is your sister?”

“Bella Kings,” the taller says with a sad smile. He’s now wearing kingly clothing, the top red while the bottom is black with gold designs and accents here and there.

“I think she would’ve liked you.” Barin smirks. Winston chuckles, “Possibly. It’s you and me ruling a nation, huh?”

“Yeah,” the taller’s smirk gets sly, “more so me than you.”

“That sounds like something I would say,” the shorter laughs as the two walk off, the ribbon still in front of the tombstone.
