When Cornelia first started working with Marcus, he was almost always puffing on a cigarette. But then out of the blue, he just quit smoking

Marcus chuckled, his voice laced with a sexy allure, “Sounds good” 

Hearing his voice, Cornelia blushed, “I’m going to step out for a bit” 

Watching her hasty exit Marcus laughed again Didn’t realize Cornelia was such a blushert 

Tom and Marcus were about the same age, the same height, and had the handsome features. On his own, Tom was quite the looker But standing next to Marcus, he still seemed a bit lackluster 

After exchanging polite greetings, Tom took a good look at Cornelia and said to Marcus in German, which Cornelia didn’t understand, “Your wife is quite beautiful.” 

Marcus, fluent in German, responded to Tom, “Yes, to me, she’s the most beautiful girl in the world.” 

Tom asked, “Why so blunt?” 

Marcus replied, “You’ve known me for years, when have you ever seen me beat around the bush? Times are changing, so are our minds. My wife is very beautiful, not just in appearance, but also in spirit. She’s got top–notch work skills. I wish you guys would focus on her skills first, not just her beauty” 

Marcus set very high standards for himself and for those around him. Because he was so exceptional, it was hard for anyone to outshine him in any respect. So, in his eyes, there were very few people he would praise. He seldom compliments others, but when it came to Cornelia, he could’t stop singing her praises 

Tom said. “If I didn’t know she was your wife, I might have noticed her abilities first. But now that I know she’s your wife, I’m more interested in other aspects. Like what drew you to her? Her stunning figure, her flawless face, or her skills in bed” 

“Watch your mouth!” Marcus‘ face darkened, his eyes filled with 

icy coldness. He hated it when some guys made crude jokes in inappropriate situations. And when those jokes involved his Cornelia, he was even less tolerant. 

Tom still didn’t realize the gravity of the situation, “I was just kidding, why the temper?” 

“You and I are different. We don’t need to collaborate anymore. Marcus stopped in his tracks, turned to his two assistants following him and said, “See the guest out.” 

Cornelia and Ben were both puzzled. The two of them had been chatting in German. The atmosphere seemed fine, so why did he suddenly get angry?

She looked at him and noticed the subtle change in his eyes through his glasses, confirming her guess. Cornelia added, “If he said something bad about me, it’s understandable. But we can’t give up potential benefits just because of someone’s words, right?”
