Before heading to work, Cornelia needed to swing by the studio first, so she set her alarm an hour earlier. When the alarm rang, it was still dark outside. Cornelia got up immediately, got dressed, and went out to brush her teeth and wash her face in the communal bathroom 

Their rental only had one bathroom, but since everyone had different work schedules, it was manageable. But today, Zack needled the bathroom, so Cornelia and Abigail had to freshen up in the kitchen. 

While washing her face. Abigail grumbled, “In two months, we’ll be moving to our new place. We’ll each have two bathrooms to ourselves in the new place No more fighting 

over the bathroom” 

Cornelia replied, “You might end up missing these days.” 

Abigail said, “Maybe” 

Everyone took turns freshening up, then they set off for the studio. 

Their studio was called San Manga Studio, which simply rncant a studio started by three people. Upon arriving at the studio, Cornella realized the extent of the damage was much worse than she had anticipated. 

They were tight on funds when they first started renovating, and Cornelia insisted on installing a large floor–to–ceiling window. Now, the window was shattered, and the 

studio was a mess. 

The broken desks and computers were scattered everywhere, a heartbreaking sight. 

Just as Cornelia was about to go in, Zack and Abigail quickly stopped her, “The culprit hasn’t been found yet, and the police have cordoned off the area. We can’t go in.” 

Cornelia looked around and then asked, “Are there no footage of the culprit from our surveillance cameras and the ones next door?” 

Zack answered. “They were caught on camera, even taunting us in front of the lens. But they were wearing masks and didn’t leave any fingerprints or anything that could help identify them.” 

Cornelia said, “Alright, I get it. Give me the number of the cop in charge of this case, I’ll call him later. You two go home, I need to go to the office. Marcus is meeting a very important partner today, and I can’t be late.” 

Just as she mentioned Marcus, he called Cornelia picked up immediately. “President Hartley* 

Marcus said, “I’m outside your building, I’ll pick you up for work.” 

Hearing his sexy voice, Cornelia stuttered, Tm already out. Didn’t we agree last night that you wouldn’t pick me up?” 

Marcus said, “Alright, see you at the office.” 

After ending the call, Cornelia quickly drove to the office. 

The office building had a four–story underground parking lot with ample parking spaces for employees. 

Cornelia had just gotten a car recently and was assigned a parking space on the fourth basement floor Marcus had a chauffeur and never had to go to the underground parking lot since he was always dropped off at the office entrance. Never in a million years did Cornelia expect to see Marcus waiting by her parking space 

Cornelia hurriedly rolled down her window to greet him, “President Hartley, what are you doing here?” 

Marcus said. “Waiting for you” 

Cornelia didn’t answer. Oh man, could this guy be any more straightforward? So straightforward, she didn’t know how to react and it threw her heart into disarray 

Her heart was in disarray, and so were her hands. Normally, she could effortlessly reverse into a parking space, but today she was struggling. 

On Cornelia’s fifth attempt to park, Marcus spoke in his deep, soothing voice, “Cornelia, avoiding me like this isn’t doing you any good” 

Cornelia didn’t say anything. 

He continued, “I promised you that our relationship won’t be made public for now, and I won’t go back on my word. But you can’t expect things to stay the same between us just because our relationship is a secret” 

Cornelia was speechless. Why could he always see right through her?
