Ryan asked. “Are you sure you don’t want Marc’s help?” 

Cornelia shook her head, “If I can’t handle something this minor, how am I fit to work alongside him?* 

Ryan added, “You’re not just his assistant, you’re his wife. In your work, you need to be a competent assistant, that’s your duty. But in life, you don’t always have to be tough. You can show some vulnerability, let him know you need him” 

Unwilling to show weakness, Cornelia retorted, “Who says a woman has to rely on a man in marriage? I want to be the woman who can fight alongside him, not always depending on him” 

Cornelia believed no one was born to protect others. Including Granny Luisa, Briana, many people in the Hartley Group all needed Marcus‘ protection. He had always shielding them from the storms.
