15. Mates leaving

Aleida’s POV

A couple of days passed since my mates came here for the meeting, and now it’s time to say goodbye for now. They’ve got to go back to their territories. No one in my pack has anything against them being here, but I also understand that they can’t stay here forever. They’ve got other obligations to consider. I know that they don’t like to leave our sons and me behind, but us going with them isn’t an option right now. Maybe sometime in the future, but not today. We’ve decided that me, the boys, Michael, and a couple of warriors are going to visit next week. Their pack has the right to know about their future alphas. So, instead of telling the members about it, we’re going to make it simpler by showing them. They’ve begged me to come to visit this week, but it isn’t possible because of the meetings I have in the following week.

“You sure eat a lot, baby,” I say to Alexander, who at the moment drinks breast milk.

I close my eyes and relax. Suddenly, I feel persistent pain in my nipple. The pain makes me scream out before I get what’s happening and give my son an angry look.

“Aren’t you in trouble now, mister? How dare you bite your mother? Huh!? Wait until your daddy hears about this,” I scold him.

Just when I say that my mates walk into the room with the whole entourage behind them. They all look like they just ran a marathon.

“We heard you screaming; what happened?” Kian asks, and I rise from my seat and stalk up to him with an angry look.

“You son decided it was a good idea to bite me!” I look down at my son. “What have I told you about bitting me!? You’re not allowed; why is that so hard to understand. It hurts goddamn it!”

Alexander giggles at me, and I hand him over to Kian with a big sigh.

“You deal with this; I’m bleeding...”

I walk inside the bathroom and look at the bitemark; it’s pretty significant for someone that small. And it’s bleeding a lot. Hang on for a second! I put some paper towels on the wound and hurry back out; putting my fingers in my son’s mouth and opens it; his canines are out.

“What the-” Miliano begins.

“How in the world can he have his canines out!? He’s a few months old!” I exclaim while clutching the paper harder on my wound.

“He has an easier way to find his wolf; Eli is the same. You’re the werewolf queen, blessed by the moon goddess herself. You have two of the strongest alphas in the whole wide world as your mates. It was inevitable that they wouldn’t emerge much sooner than others,” Nathan explains in a matter-of-fact voice.

“Can they fully transform?” I ask.

“No, not yet. Probably in a few years. Right now, they only have their canines and urges like a wolf, in behavior and such. So don’t be surprised if they pee on the carpet,” he chuckles, and everyone is laughing except me; I turn towards my other son, who’s biting the crib bars.

“Hey! No biting the furniture!” I exclaim while pointing at him before picking him up with a sigh and put him in Miliano’s arms. “So what now? I’m going to have two mini wolves biting at everything like untrained puppies?”

“Pretty much, yeah.”

“Oh, for the love of God, stop eating your daddy’s sweater!” I exclaim to Alexander. “Okay, everyone that’s not a parent; please leave the room.”

Everyone leaves except for Miliano and Kian. I look at them.

“We have to control this situation somehow. I can’t look after the puppies all the time, and I can’t leave them either. They would probably chew on the electric cords and take power out of my house,” I say with a sigh; they just laugh at me, even the babies. “Hey, watch it! What did I say about giggling at me when I’m trying to have a serious conversation?”

Both my boys shut up and looks interested in me suddenly. Please don’t tell me that I ordered my children...

“Oh goddess, did I just-”

“Use the queen voice at your sons? No, you didn’t. That’s your mommy voice,” Miliano answers with a smirk.

“I didn’t mean to sound so angry at them...” I whisper sadly.

“Hey, it’s okay to feel overwhelmed from time to time. It’s nothing wrong with that. Besides, we have two boys who are going to chew and pee everywhere; of course, it’s tiresome just thinking about it,” Kian says softly.

“I really hope the next litter is girls,” I sigh and massage my temples.

“Next? You want more kids?” Kian asks with lust in his eyes; Miliano looks the same.

This may sound weird to you humans, but it’s not strange at all in our world. A male wolf, especially an alpha, feels the need to impregnate its mate. It’s kind of a turn-on/fetish thing. They love the idea of having their mate all swollen and pregnant; it’s pure instinct.

“Well, I’m not sure. Since I have these two monsters biting at everything,” I answer and take Elias in my arms when Miliano gives him to me. “But I don’t know, maybe in the fu-... Oh, for the love of... Stop biting my finger, Eli!”

I put him back in the crib with a biting ring in his mouth and sit down again.

“You were saying?” Kian asks.

“Maybe in the future, girls don’t behave like cavemen. But seriously, this-” I say and point at the boys. “Is going to be a problem. I can’t take them with me everywhere, and I can’t ask the omegas to help with this. So I made a decision.”

“What decision?” Miliano asks.

“I’m going to go home with you today, meet everyone again, and then I’ll leave the boys there with you. Just until I can come back and take care of everything here,” I answer, and their mouths are wide open; I guess they didn’t see that coming.

“Are you serious?” Miliano asks.

“What? Now you can’t take care of your biting sons?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

“No, no, no, I didn’t mean it that way... I just thought you were going to put up a fight about it,” he answers; I sigh and rub my temples again.

“I can’t put up a fight when there’s nothing to fight about. Our puppies need protection and someone who can watch them 24/7; I can only do one of those. You’re two people; I’m only one. You can make it work since you’ve got more people around to help you; I train warriors to kill, not omegas to care for babies.”

“Are you sure this is what you want?” Kian asks, and I finally look up at them with a pained expression.

“No, but this isn’t about what I want. It’s what best for my boys, and that’s what important. If I have to suffer the pain while knowing they’re safe, then so be it. I can’t be selfish, and I haven’t been since I gave birth to them. This is what’s important. Nothing else,” I answer; Kian sits down beside me, hugging me with one of his arms, and I lean on his shoulder with a sigh. “It’s just hard, you know. I know that you’ll protect our boys and all, but... It still hurts me.”

“We understand that. And for the record, I think this is the best decision,” Miliano says and kisses my forehead. “How long will you be staying at home anyway?”

“Just for one night.”

“One night!?” Kian exclaims. “Why only for one night? We won’t have time to be with you.”

“That’s just the thing. This isn’t about you or me; it’s about those little boys there. If I have to make the sacrifice of having my boys away from me, then you’ll have to sacrifice time with me. They should be the priority, not me.”

“Okay, we should probably pack all the things down,” Kian answers with a defeated look on his features.

We’re almost at the Winter blood pack, my old home. I’m scared to meet everyone again. The bare thought of what they must think of me makes me shiver. Miliano looks at me through the rearview mirror.

“It’s fine; everything’s going to be fine. We have already explained everything to the members,” he says.

I nod my head and look at my boys instead. Kian is sitting in the passenger seat beside Miliano, and I’m in the back between the pups. I see the packhouse closing in, and my anxiety rises inside me. And before I know it, we’re here. I unlock the straps from the boys and pick them up. Kian opens my door, and I step out, just to meet the whole pack waiting for us. To say that they’re confused and surprised is an understatement. But before I can say something, they cheer and howl in the joy of meeting their new alphas. I let out a breath of relief I don’t know I’m holding.

“Welcome back, luna!” someone yells.

“The luna is home!” another shouts in excitement; my face drops at their words, and they quiet down when they see my expression.

“Um... I’m not staying. I was just coming to leave the boys; I’m going back tomorrow morning,” I answer; some look sad, others look disappointed; a scream alerts me.

“Hija!” the voice shouts; I turn to the voice and smile big when I see who it is.

“Abuela!” I shout back; she hugs me carefully and looks down at my boys with joy.

“Oh dios mio! Echa un vistazo a estos angelitos. Pequeño...”

‘Oh dear god! Look at these little angels. Little..’

I sighed and gave her a sad look.

I give her the boys and turn to my mates.

“That sounds good to me. I will have Killian, Henry, and Jason helping her.”

“Good. I’m going to the bedroom; I need to change,” I say and am almost at the door when I stop to turn around. “Is it still the same bedroom?”

“Yeah, we haven’t touched a thing,” Miliano answers.

I nod and walk inside. When my dear mate tells me that they haven’t touched anything, I didn’t think they literally haven’t touched anything. There’s dust in the room, and it looks like no one has slept there for a long time. Confused, I look around the room. The closet is empty, and there are only my things in here.

“Yeah, it didn’t feel right to sleep in here when you weren’t around,” Kian said behind me.

“You didn’t have to take all your stuff out; you could just have moved or tossed my things,” I say; he growls at me; yup, you read that right...

“We could never toss away your stuff! It was the only thing we had left of you,” Kian exclaims.

“Sorry...” I say sheepishly; he sighs and takes me in his arms, kisses my forehead.

“Will you join Miliano and me for a run?” he asks; I smile up at him and peck his lips.

“I would love nothing more.”
