Jane stepped on the gas.

Jane held the wheel tightly.

Jensen stared at her with deep eyes. “Gilda, listen to me. In the past, we had many misunderstandings because of Madeleine. But now, Madeleine has been punished as she deserves, and I have nothing to do with her. So, I really want to start over with you, as friends.” 

Gilda chuckled, “Ha–ha, Mr. Harrington, I’m afraid you took me wrong. I don’t need more friends. I’m also very picky. Not everyone deserves to be my friend.” 

Jensen understood the sarcasm and rejection in her tone.

Jensen was confused.

“You were a terrible husband. In the three years of marriage, you didn’t do anything a husband should do.

“You cheated on me within our marriage and took the other woman to the public places. You didn’t care about me when I almost died in an air crash.

Gilda felt bitterly disappointed when she finished. 

Gilda thought, ‘It was Jensen who drove me away. 

‘It was Jensen who killed all my love for him. 

“So, after everything I’ve been through, what makes Jensen think that I should accept his apology and start over again? 

“He is insane. Doesn’t he know that it’s too late to apologize?” 

Gilda closed the window, stepped on the gas, and left without a word.
