Chapter 62 – Oakley

Florian doesn’t have enough time to react before I’m on him like a f ucking spider monkey. I jump and then climb his

gargantuan frame until I can get my legs around his chest and arms, giving him no way to hit me. I strike him twice, directly in the temple and he’s f ucking out cold. I ride his b*dy to the ground and then disentangle myself from him.

“Moon wins!” the head trainer on my ring calls as another blows the whistle.

20 seconds” Ray calls, running to the ring and scooping me up into his arms. “That was amazing!”

Chapter 62 – Oakley

Florian doesn’t have enough time to react before I’m on him like a f ucking spider monkey. I jump and then climb hist gargantuan frame until I can get my legs around his chest and arms, giving him no way to hit me. I strike him twice, directly in the temple and he’s f ucking out cold. I ride his b*dy to the ground and then disentangle myself from him.

“Moon wins!” the head trainer on my ring calls as another blows the whistle.

“20 seconds!” Ray calls, running to the ring and scooping me up into his arms. That was amazing!”

“Sh it, Oakley!” Cassie screams, running to us as well.

I kind of feel bad for the others that are sparring because no one is watching their matches at all. They’re all just standing in shock, staring at me.

I walk off to the sidelines as the m edic jogs over to Florian who is starting to come around. She pauses and grips my shoulder as she jogs past. “Thanks. He’s a w ank er. Ive been waiting for someone to do what you just did for the past two weeks.”

I laugh my a ss off as I keep walking and Ray snuggles into me.

“Oh, babe, don’t. I’ve got to reek of sweat,” I say, trying to push him away.

He just hugs me tighter to him. “All I smell is fern and evergreen. Like the forest on a warm summer day. My favorite smell.” He nuzzles into my n*eck and k*sses me on my marking spot. The adrenaline from the fight and my nerves automatically has me responding to him and I know that I’m scenting the air around us.

“You’ve gotta stop that. We can do that later!” I whisper to him, moaning slightly when his teeth graze my marking spot right before he chuckles darkly into my ear.

“What if I want to congratulate my mate on her victory?” he says, huskily and I can feel his erection poking my as s.

Sh it, now I want him! “Lunch break,” I moan as he starts to rub against my as s. Hopefully Ill still be in the round robin by then. It’ll be the last two rounds at that point. If not, he’ll be my consultation prize.

“Fine,” he growls out, but I can feel his smile against my skin. “Do me a favor and stand still so that I can adjust my d ick.

You get me harder than steel without even trying, Oakley.”

Goddess, why does he have to say it like that? Maybe just a quickie?

But then, I see that all the fights are and the trainers are preparing for the next round and I know there’s no time. It’s only then that I see that Je rry won his fight, though Willow definitely doesn’t look happy about it. She’s somewhat mollified when

he helps her to walk over to the medic tent. Her face is slightly red. Where other’s might think it’s from the exertion that she’s

had during the fight, or even the pain in her twisted ankle, I’ve fought her enough to know that isn’t it. Does Willow does she like

Jer ry? Ooooh, that would be an amazing development! For the both of them! I have to find a way to ask her.

Next is round three and there are only four matches this time. I’m about to step away from Ray after he swats me on the

as s, when I hear Cassie cry out, “Sh it!”

She’s looking at the bracket and she doesn’t like what she sees. I turn to blow Ray a k*ss and then jog over to her.

“What’s wrong? Who are you up against?” I ask.

She turns to me,

She turn

her eyes wide. “You.”

Chapter 62 – Oakley

Well, sh it.

A short while later, Cassie and I are staring at each other across the sparring ring. All four groups are going this time so that we get to lunch at a decent time. I have no idea who Harry, Jer ry, or Lisa are fighting right now. The only thing that I was able to focus on was Cassie.

“Don’t you dare go easy on me, Oakley!” Cassie demands from the other side of the ring.

“You either, Cas,” I respond in the same tone. This is going to be a difficult fight, both physically and me ntally. Cassie and I have been n*eck and n*eck with our sparring against each other when we practice. The only way there is ever a clear winner is if one of us taps out or is knocked out. We both win an equal amount of times.

I’m not looking forward to this.

Ray is on the sidelines, as are any of the other mates of the sparring parties. I’d never really noticed it until I asked Ray who he was going to be ruling on in the sparring ring before we came out. He told me that they made sure that when one of the trainer’s mates was up to fight that that trainer was on the sidelines. They would be too busy worrying about their mate to be able to watch the match they were in charge of and they obviously wouldn’t be partial to judging their own mate in the sparring ring.

Makes sense. I guess I’ve just never noticed before because of worrying about my own match.

Cassie and I both r

move into defensive crouches.

“Good luck,” I say to her, giving her a small smile.

She smiles back. “Good luck.”

The whistle goes off and I know that I immediately have to get out of Cassie’s way based on the way that she turns and sticks her left foot out. She’s going to run right at me, trying to either catch me off guard and get a lucky punch in, or clothesline me. That is her favorite opening move and, until I learned the trick with her feet, it got me nearly every time.

Instead of moving to the side, I stand still, watching her arms to see which she will raise. The second that I figure out it’s the left one, I duck under and throw out my left foot, trying to sweep her feet out from under her.

Cassie sees the move in the nick of time. She jumps over my foot, kicking back with her left and catching me in the back. It knocks me off balance, but I tuck and roll out of the way as quickly as possible. By that time, Cassie has turned around and launched herself at me.

I use her momentum to push her away from me, kicking out with a cut kick into her stomach. I hear the breath whoosh out of her and I rush to attack again. She meets each of my strikes with a block, every single time. Kicks, punches, strikes, and jabs, each deflected neatly by Cassie.

I can’t seem to get under her guard. But at least I’m still on offense. Because of the speed of my assault, she hasn’t been able to attack me yet.

That is, until I trip over my own two da mn feet. I honestly don’t know what it is that brought me down. My clothes are tight against my b*dy. There are no stones, no divots, no rises in the the surface of the sparring ring. Nothing that accounts for why I lose my footing, other than I’m so wrapped up in trying to hit Cassie that I don’t pay attention to where my feet are.

I stumble, not much, but I lose my balance. And that’s all the in Cassie needs. Suddenly, I’m on the defense and her blows

are raining down on me harder and faster than I can block them. I try to duck and roll out of the way, but she’s on me. Like literally leaping onto my back. I’m smaller than she is and it pushes me to the ground.

Chapter 62 – Oakley

All the air rushes out of my lungs and I can’t stop her from fl*pping me over and putting both hands behind my back, pushing

on the pressure points so hard that I yelp.

Though I appreciate that Cassie didn’t beat me into submission, I hate that she’s trying to make me tap out. I’d rather have

the bruises. Especially after how I took down Florian.

Burt Cassie continues the pressure on my arms and, unless I want them popped out of joint, I have to tap out.

“I yield,” I call out and the head trainer says, “Sky for the win.”
