e’ve been waiting here for about an hour and a half for Oakley to come and talk to us. She had requested to see Levi and Father separate from Jack and me. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not.

Jack can’t seem to stand still. He’s been pacing the sitting room that we’re in the entire time that we’ve been here and I’m 90% positive that there are going to be ruts in the wooden floor showing his path around the room. If he doesn’t sit down, I’m gonna fl*p my s hit and knock him the f uck out.

“What’s taking so long?” Jack demands, running his hands through his hair for the umpteenth time.

“She probably wanted to talk to her. mate,” I spit out the last word, hating that the Moon Goddess thought that Levi, of all males, would be a good match for my little sister. “And she wanted to talk to Father. They would have been her first two

priorities. And, I hate to think about it, but if things went well with Levi…”

Both of us shudder.

“Ugh! I don’t even want to think about that!” Jack murmurs.

“Yeah, but if things go well with them, then we get her back. I hate to say it, but we kind of have to root for them,” I reply. “If

she can swallow back everything that he did to her we’ve got to let her do it. S hit, she’ll have him wrapped around her little finger for the rest of their lives.”

He huffs out a laugh, though his face looks forlorn.

“But if she takes him back, then we’ll have her back. We need her to accept this. You know that, right?” I ask him.

“No! No, I don’t know that. I want her to reject him and for the three of us and Father to leave the pack. She’s f ucking strong, man. You know that. You could feel it like I did. We could stay here in the city and become guards in the military. Or

cops. S hit, we could go to the outskirts of the continent and live like wolves for the rest of our lives. I don’t care, I just want our sister back!” Jack nearly pleads.

“I get that, Jack. I do. And I can’t help that I agree with you. Its everything that I want. But, it’s up to Oakley. And no matter

what we do, we can’t change that,” I say.

He’s about to retort when there’s a knock on the do

door.

Both of us look at each other, freaking out. Is this it?

I look to Jack, as he is the oldest twin, to see if he’s gonna say anything. When he just stares at me like a deer in headlights, I clear my throat before calling. “Come in.”

In walks Head Commander Sophia. I have to say, if we weren’t here to possibly say goodbye to our sister, I would be all over her. She is easily one of, if not the se xiest she-wolf I have ever seen. I would let her climb me like a grizzly bear on a pine tree if she felt so inclined. But there is something else. I feel this pull towards her. I don’t think that it’s the matebond. From what I understand from friends and from Father, it’s an undeniable NEED to have that wolf with you at all times. An inability to be away

from them.

That’s not what I feel about her. I just feel like there’s something that she is supposed to be for me. Glancing over at

James, I can see that he feels the same thing that I do. A combination of lust and desire to follow.

“Alright, boys. Let’s talk before you see Oakley,” she says.

Jack growls, his wolf coming forward, wanting to have some of Sophia if she will allow it.

“Mates? How can we be your mates?” Jack says, looking as confused as I feel.

“So…we both have the same mate. I thought that was just legend,” Jack says.

“So are a lot of the things that go with being the Commander of the Elite 10. Doesn’t mean that they aren’t true,” she responds airily. “Now, here’s the deal. Each and every member of the Elite 10, including those who help train them, have a prophecy that says what their life will be like. I knew that you would be coming. Well, not you specifically, but I knew that I would have two mates. I wasn’t sure how it was going to happen. I should have remembered about the twins.”

“So, what’s the prophecy?” I ask, my hands itching to reach out an touch her. Its like the second she told us that we were her mates, all I can think about is feeling her skin against mine.

Both Jack and I sit there, flabbergasted and unsure of what to say. So, she has the option of taking us as her mate? I mean, of course she has the option, but she knows what her options are. And that scares the c rap out of me. Because she knows

what’s out there for her. She knows what she can have outside of us.

Sophia leans forward in her seat, putting her elbows on her knees and looking at us intensely. “It’s so true, you know? You
