Chapter 39 ~ Together as one🔞

Tranquility.

As I stood there under the stream of water that cascaded down my naked frame, I took in a deep breath and placed a hand over my racing heart.

Leon and I had excused ourselves from the reception early. He said that there was something he needed to do and I had followed behind him, not wanting to stay behind if he wasn’t going to be there. We came back to his room, or should I say our room? To relax and go to bed... or not.

I was madly anticipating this moment. I heard from Stacia that the connection between soulmates intensifies when you fully mate and mark each other. I haven’t marked Leon yet and we haven’t mated either but now was our moment to. I was ready.

As much as the thought comforted me, it also annoyed me.

I voiced my frustration, “I’m tired of you treating me like I’m fragile.”

He hesitated slightly before he admitted, “because you are.”

“You are.”

“But you just said that I’m fragile. How can I be both?”

He was at a loss for words, “I... I... you are.”

Anger rose quickly as I threw my hands up in frustration and turned to pace the room, “why can’t you get that I want this!? Do I have to beg? Don’t think I forgot that you played a part in Nadia attacking m-,” I turned around and slammed into his tall frame.

I hadn’t even noticed that he had snuck up behind me. A gasp escaped my lips as I looked into his glowing eyes that shone with lust. His husky voice sounded as a hand came to rest on my waist.

“Are you done?”

My words got stuck in my throat as I nodded, his bottled emotions finally pouring out like a storm and pressing down on my shoulders.
