‘Let’s play three questions.’

‘What’s that?’

‘You get to ask me three questions and I need to answer them truthfully. I get to do the same.’

‘How do I know you are being honest.’

‘It’s the game. You need to be.’

‘Okay, mister bully. Like I believe anything that comes out of your mouth.’

‘Wow, that actually kind off hurt.’

I rolled my eyes.

‘Okay, what was your childhood like, did you grow up happy?’ I asked.

It was a peculiar one, because I felt him shutting down immediately.

‘Straight to the heart now, why don’t you love.’ He tried to laugh it off but I saw right through it.

‘If you don’t want to-’

‘No… I’ll answer. It’s the game.’

I nodded. ‘Go on…’

‘It’s weird growing up as me and… you know, have the world expect so much of you from the gecko.’

‘Because you are a Paramore?’

‘Yeah love…. and because of my family. You know we used to have royalty in Caros, the three continents all had several kings and queens. For Terra my great- great -great grandfather was the last king.’ He sighed. ‘Until the Tertin was instated.’ He continued.

He was a difficult man to live with. Even more difficult after he lost the capital. He became violent and cruel. He never actually said anything nice about me or my brothers. My mother never really stood up for herself or for us. So my childhood was not really all that great.’

‘What happened to your first father?’

‘He killed himself one day. Nicolai found the body.’

I took in a deep breath. ‘I’m so sorry.’

‘Don’t be, he was a straight up narcissistic bastard.’ He blinked away a few tears and scraped his throat. ‘Anyway, my mother became the new Regent and it changed her as well.’

‘Is that why you don’t want to be a Paramore?’

He blinked at me. In confusion. ‘How do you kno-.’ He swallowed back a lump. ‘No… I want to be a Paramore.’

I raised my eyebrow at him but decided to drop it for now.

‘Do you have any-’

‘Nope, little bird. You used up all the questions. It’s my turn now.’ He bopped my nose and winked.

‘Have you ever wanted to have sex with any of the Paramore’s beside Kai?’

I snorted. ‘What kind of a question is that?’

‘Just curious.’ He winked.

‘Are you talking about yourself?’ I screeched.

‘That’s what you make of it love.’ He smirked.

‘No!’

‘Don’t lie. I was honest as well.’

‘You are such a bastard.’ I puffed. ’Well, yes! Okay.’

’I knew it! It’s me, and Ash probably. Jax?’

I shook my head. ‘I don’t need to explain!’

‘So it is me!’ He slapped his hands together.

‘No I would never make love to you Sebastian!’

‘Don’t lie little bird.’ He winked again.

’I’m sure you would… next!’

He mischievously stared at me for a while before asking his next question.

‘Did you ever have public sex, little bird?’

‘Seb, come one now man. What’s with the sex questions?’

‘Just curious, and I can ask whatever I want.’

‘Right… and no. I have never done that.’

‘Interesting… I would have thought of you as a sexual risk taker.’ Whatever did he mean by that?

‘Next!’ I yelled. Beneath us the beast stirred. We had almost forgotten about him.

‘Do you miss your parents?’

It hit me right in the heart. He was doing this on purpose to rattle me. I had to take a deep breath. ‘Every day.’ I glanced away from him. ‘I’m done with this game.’ Done with you.

‘Love, I didn’t mean to hurt you.’ He tried to put a stray hair behind my ear but I slapped his hand away.

‘Don’t. It’s all just games with you!’ He saw the hurt in my eyes and his posture changed.

‘I’m sure you miss them. What were they like?’ He had dropped the act and was genuinely concerned.

I sighed. ‘My mom died when I was nine. Dad took care of me the best he could but I had to pick up most of the routine. It was a hard thing to do for a young child. Jax had my back for a while and Maddox helped a lot. I came to look at him as a second parent.’ The good old days. A lot had changed.

‘Yeah I figured.’ Sebastian said. ‘By the way Jax is so protective over you. He has tried to kill me a few times for the shit me and Melixes have put you through. But Paramore Code. He can’t touch me.’

‘What’s that?’

‘Paramore’s can’t fight, physically fight, each other. We all took an oath.’

‘Interesting…’ I contemplated that for a minute.
