Chapter 40: boy bye

A week later I had not seen him around campus anywhere. That was fine by me. My heart was still upset over it but I would never let him see any of that. I must admit, every night I had spent with Kai had not been so fulfilling anymore. Partly because Kai was not feeling me anymore, or so it seemed. Maybe I was projecting my own issues and feelings on him and he was just giving me back what I was giving out but still I needed more… I still had not told him what had happened with Ash, making me feel so guilty I couldn’t eat all week.

As I was closing my locker, after my final class of the day had wrapped up, there he was all of a sudden. His nose still looked swollen, even in the dim hallway light. It was eight in the evening, my final class of Tuesdays being astrology.

I had apparently broken Asher nose, or so Skylark had told me. She had no idea for what reason though and thought it had been an accident.

He was leaning on the locker beside me. Eyebrows raised. ‘Fuck off Ash.’ I gave him the middle finger and turned my back on him.

‘Really? That’s all you got to say to me?’ he sarcastically replied and started to follow me. ‘You need to take my class back in your schedule, Lux!’

‘Like hell I am!’ I flipped him off again as I walked away from him.

‘What do you want from me?’ he caught up to me outside and I rolled my eyes his way.

‘To not have anything to do with you ever!’ I snapped at him. He put his hand on his heart, trying to be funny.

‘Auch sweetheart. That really got me.’ He pretended I had just hurt him.

‘Stop calling me sweetheart, I’ll break your fucking nose again!’ I hissed at him. Actually ready to hit him once more.

‘That really hurt you know.’ He added solemnly, still not leaving me alone and now walking backwards in front of me.

‘Yeah well, that does not make us even. Not even close.’

‘Is that what this is about? You want to spank me too, sweet cheeks?’ the amusement leaking from his voice. I was so angry I thought I was about to pass out. He was making fun of this situation and it was not at all funny to me. He had lost all of this self-control on that mountain and had fucked with my mind, and not in a Paramirage this time. Now he had the ability to mindfuck me throughout the day as well.

I stopped in my tracks, turned around and slapped him hard across his jaw. It snapped his neck to the side from impact.

He actually gave me a surprised look now.

I was breathing so hard from being so angry. I could literally explode. Angry tears sliding down my cheeks. I hated that I had to show him this. That he did so much to me I could get this upset. But he had. He had from that very first time I had met him and the very first time he had called me sweet cheeks. There had been no way back.

‘You had no right!’ I cried at him. A few students gave us strange looks. I wanted to scream other things at him, opening my mouth and closing them again, but I put my hands in the air and just ran off. Exasperated with the man, who always ran so hot and cold with me I was getting whiplash.

He was not following me this time and I needed to find Kai right now and tell him everything.
