Chapter 25: Revelations

Still fuming with Melixes for that prank she pulled at Neverlake and angry with Ash for tarnishing the trust I had for him. I arrived back at my dorm room and walked straight into Kai. ‘Babe, I have been so worried. I ate that dessert in one big bite and came straight here!’ he kissed me and I already felt the guilt seeping through my pores. So I went for the quick approach like ripping off a band aid.

‘Kai… I… I got Paramiraged and… I don’t know what happened. Ash and I had…’ I swallowed. ‘Had what?’ Kai grabbed my cheeks and made me look at him. ‘He did that memory thing and we kissed.’

‘What in the fuck? You kissed Ash?’ he dropped his hands and looked at me in complete shock.

‘Yeah, we kissed in the dream and afterwards too….’ I frustratingly threw my hands in the air. ‘I don’t have a single clue how that happened but it did!’

Kai just had this weird look on his face. He stayed silent for a few seconds. Then he burst out laughing.

‘So you are this upset about some kiss Ash gave you in a dream?’

‘And one afterwards!’ he ignored that for some reason.

‘I know what those Paramirages are. That’s nothing. That’s not cheating. One kiss afterwards I can forget.’

‘He saw me half naked in there and he kissed me! More than once!’ I blurted out. Slapped my hands in front of my mouth. I was a really bad liar. I couldn’t stand the fact I was holding something back from him.

Kai sighed. ’Well…I’m going to kick his ass. And make damn sure I’m kissing him away tonight. When I come back here after I’ve kicked his ass. Wash those lips for me. I’ll be back!’ He pecked me and walked out the door.

Leaving me stunned. He hadn’t dumped me. He wasn’t even angry. How is that even possible? I dropped down on the bed and stared at my feet. I really needed that hot shower now.
