It had been seven years since the world ended...and almost just as long since Dani had seen another living human being. She and her feline companion, Nissa, had been forced underground, struggling to survive and keep themselves alive amidst terrifying monsters and imminent death. When their resources had finally run out, Dani made the risky decision to leave the safety of their underground home and venture out to find a safe place to finally live their lives in peace. A chance encounter as they headed out to the forest would lead Dani on a path to her destiny and a possible home away from the chaos. The Hedgerow was fortified to protect, though no one really knew what they were up against…but Dani did. Would they believe her when she told them the truth? Would they still accept her when they found out that she was different from them? Maybe she should have stayed in hiding, but there was no turning back now.
