Chapter 46 

“Simon is not in the company now. I’m his uncle. What can I do for you?” 

“Uncle…” Edith repeated the word. After thinking about it, she felt it was good. If Carlos was willing to help her pass on the message, the effect might be better. “Then… Uncle Carlos, do you know that Simon is married?” 

“No.” 

Carlos‘ quick and firm answer made Edith tremble, and she felt a little sad. 

Edith thought, “Simon hides it so well. He even hides it from his uncle. If I tell Carlos everything, will I anger Simon?” 

Thinking of this, Edith suddenly did not dare to say it. She wrung her clothes dejectedly and said in a feeble voice, “Forget it, Uncle Carlos… I’ll go back first. Thank you for your help.”

“A female employee.”

When Carlos drove her to Rivabell Avenue, Edith asked him to drop her there. Carlos gave her a suit coat and told her to be careful on the way. 

When Edith was far away, the car followed her quietly and finally stopped at the gate of the villa. 

Carlos looked at the villa with an extremely complicated expression. 

Sam said awkwardly, “Mr. Lawson, I didn’t expect Ms. White to be your wife, but she seemed to have misunderstood something. She thinks she is Simon’s wife.” 

Carlos narrowed his eyes slightly and tapped his fingers on the car window regularly, making a slight sound. 

At that moment, he had mixed feelings. 

Carlos didn’t expect his wife to be Edith. No wonder she called him Uncle Carlos. It turned out to be a misunderstanding 

His stubborn wife, who said that she would be qualified to negotiate with him, was actually Edith. She would get drunk, mess around, walk carelessly on the road, and even call him Uncle Carlos with a smile.

Carlos didn’t answer and just asked Sam to turn the car around and leave.

She poured herself a glass of water. Unexpectedly, there was a short knock on the door. 

Edith’s heart was in her throat in an instant. 

“Who is it?” she asked warily. 

“Simon.” A hoarse voice came from outside. It was a little low, very different from what Edith had heard before, but she firmly believed it. 

Only Simon had the right to enter and leave this place freely. 

Edith suddenly became nervous, thinking. “He came in the middle of the night. Could it be…”
