Chapter 300 Fainted

He curved his lips into a faint smile, but due to his weakness, it only lasted for a moment. Looking at me, he asked, "Tabatha, so are we friends now?"

I nodded, "Of course it counts."

He looked at me and said, "Don't call me Mr. Monroe in the future, just call me Dan."

I thought about it, indeed calling him Mr. Monroe felt a bit unfamiliar, but if I were to call him Dan, I couldn't help but think of Walter. It seemed that those close to him all liked to call him Walter. Thinking of this, I couldn't help but feel a bit heartbroken. I took a slight breath, looked at Daniel, and said, "Let me call you by your name, I'm not used to addressing others like this." He pursed his lips, didn't say much, and nodded, "Alright, calling by name is fine too."

I nodded with a smile, but unexpectedly found that there seemed to be no topic to talk about for a moment. I couldn't help but think in my mind, what should I talk to him about. Suddenly, Daniel's voice came to my ear, "Tabatha."

"Huh?" I was taken aback, only realizing he was looking at me when I came back to my senses. It took me a few seconds to register that he had called me without using my surname. I felt a bit uncomfortable, but I still pretended to be unaffected as I looked at him and asked, "What's up?”

Seeing me look at him, his handsome brows and eyes moved slightly as he asked, "Can I call you like this?"

I nodded, "Sure."

He smiled faintly, not knowing if the anesthesia had worn off a bit, his face regaining some color. He looked at me and asked, "Can you call me by my name then?"

Me??

Sure enough, two people with nothing to talk about could really get so bored that they just started calling each other's names.

Thinking this way, I couldn't help but want to laugh, and a smile uncontrollably spread across my face. I said, "Daniel."

He suddenly burst into laughter, his already exceptionally handsome face becoming even more captivating, making it hard for people to look away. I couldn't help but sigh inwardly, indeed, a good-looking person is always a feast for the eyes, no matter how you look at them.

After laughing for a while, seeing me looking at him, Daniel said, "Are you looking at me like this because you think I'm good-looking?"

I nodded, not avoiding his gaze, and said, "Yeah, you look pretty good. when you smile." It was a sincere compliment. I didn't know why, but perhaps it was because we had experienced a life-and-death situation together. Unconsciously, he and I were no longer as estranged as before, and could even be considered friends.

He pursed his lips in a slight smile, it was not hard to tell, he was very happy.

When Sebastian came in and saw us all laughing, the tense expression on his face eased slightly. Hearing the noise, I turned around to look at him, noticing that he was still covered in dry dirt, his face grimy and

dusty.

I couldn't help but feel heartbroken, but I knew he wouldn't listen to me, so I turned to look at Daniel.

Seeing this, Daniel looked at Sebastian and said, "You've worked hard these past few days. Go home, take a bath, and get a good night's sleep. You can just arrange for someone else to come over here." Upon hearing his words, Sebastian gave a slight nod.

He placed the completed paperwork by the bedside table, then quietly left the ward.

Watching him leave, I always unconsciously felt that the relationship between these two was indeed somewhat strange, not like friends, but more like master and servant.

I was doubtful, but I didn't think much about it.

After watching Sebastian leave, my mother called. I picked up my phone, just about to get up to answer it, but as I abruptly stood up, a sudden wave of dizziness hit me.

In almost an instant, I lost consciousness, with only the sound of Daniel's frantic voice in my ears, "Tabatha...”

When I woke up again, I heard fragments of conversation. Following the sound, I saw it was the doctor talking with my mother.

"Ms. Conner's dizziness and fainting were caused by the incomplete removal of snake venom. She needs to stay in the hospital for -observation in the next few days. Remember not to cause too much

trouble."

These were the doctor's words, and the mother repeatedly nodded in agreement.

After sending the doctor away, my mother noticed that I was awake. She wiped away the tears in the corner of her eyes and looked at me, saying, "I told you not to rush back, but you didn't listen. This is considered a mishap, isn't it?"

I smiled, gently took her hand, and reassured her, "Didn't the doctor say that a few days of rest would be fine? Don't worry."

She pursed her lips in silence, her face revealing an undeniable worry.

Seeing this, I said, "Mom, I'm hungry." I hadn't eaten anything since I came back, I was really hungry.

Hearing me say this, she hurriedly got up to prepare the food.

In the ward, as it quieted down, I slightly shifted and sat up. Just as I was about to get out of bed to fetch some water, the ward door was pushed open again. I instinctively looked up, thinking it was my mother. I was about to speak when I caught sight of the tall and slender figure entering. It was Walter.

The man held a food box in his hand, his face handsome and resolute. Our eyes met, he probably didn't expect me to be awake. He paused slightly, then walked over, his voice deep and restrained, "Grandma had the cook prepare this for you, it's all your favorite food."
